What I love about Steve is that despite all the hurt he has experienced he wants to forgive and encourage understanding. White folks of good will have to step up and be willing to be part of the conversation- own up to their fears and prejudices and be willing to be vulnerable, listen, and be willing to change.

EVERYBODY has to be willing to listen. That mean BOTH black and white need to be willing to listen and have a conversation.

H Flores you are blaming people simply because they are white. You are no better than the KKK when you do that. Y’all don’t want dialogue, you want revenge and to point the finger. At people who may not have had any part in racism. That is what turns EVERYONE OFF

@@ogoriginalgrandma760 That's the thing. It's very possible that 3 harveys could've stood in line for "room change". So, don't give me this BS about "you white folks". Ya'll honestly could kiss my ass with that self-indulgent BS.

People say others are "too sensitive" when they have no or a lesser sensitivity about something. Like any wound, your sensitivity increases the more you are hurt or the deeper the hurt -- intensity or duration. I used to tell people they were too sensitive and should "get over" something until I realized I was speaking from my ignorance about their situation. So, now I ask people to help me understand what has led to their sensitivity. I won't feel what they're feeling, but I can try to understand and so compassion and then ask what we can do to move forward together, given their history and mine, given their intention and mine. Minimizing another's pain is wrong on so many levels. And, if I do, I have to give them the same freedom to minimize my sensitivities.

But at some point logic has to play a part. Some people choose to be offended because being a victim has been rewarded.

As a white man I cut my arms daily, I am not a racist, but I continue to punish myself for the deaths of my brother and father , brother killed by a drunk driver charges dropped by the justice system, drunk driver set free, cutting my self since that day , never stopped, father died on Christmas morning of 1991,. Denied the right to bury my father by the justice system,. So now, I added the crime to my self death sentence, a hate crime for having a life, my life doesn't matter

What people need to understand is this, don't look at me from the outer, look at me from the inner, once people learn to think from that perspective, the universe will be a BETTER place to live in, we will all live on ONE accord!

You are right Mr Harvey, if we are willing to change it would stop the senseless hate in this world. But sadly... many of us are not willing to change. What I've learned in my life is... I will not let "hate" stop me from Loving. Like the late great Micheal Jackson said...we have to start with the "Man In The Mirror"!

The sad thing is the one roommate was willing to be his friend but not live in the some space/area. This is so true with so many. They are willing to be friends at work but not willing to honestly get to know the individual or live near them out of own ignorance. Steve was willing to forgive and most Black ppl have to because we know that we are being judged out of ignorance rather than real encounters.

Who is they? You act as if you know all 350,000,000 white people. You realize there are many many many blacks that would not want to live with a white person. I see blacks screaming for segregation in 2019 because they despise whites so much. It goes both ways. U just have a biased perspective.

I agree with the one post there's only 2 kinds of people good n bad and they are in every race creed and color but we are all made in God's image loved by the same God we either gonna go to the same heaven together for eternity or the same hell for eternity and I can for a fact guarantee that neither one of those places is racist. I was raised in racism the n word was what I heard as a Lil bitty child but by 3rd grade our Country school closed no blacks went there, they shipped us from Pollard Holler to town to school and there it was alot of blacks but it didn't take me long at all to see we were the same and they certainly deserved as much respect as I did. I lost the n word real quick. In fact I had black friends and learned myself how it is suppose to be. Now I could not tell my daddy all this cause he was still set in his own thinking on things but daddy was a Democrat to so I had to wait til daddy passed in 2011 and I switched to Republican side thank God, if I hadn't waited daddy would a buried me first.he called um blue legged republicans, I still have no clue what that means but I'm one of um now

Black people overly sensitive. Can’t call NBA team owners what they are , “owners”. ESPN announcer was fired for saying a players skin was dark and it , along with his brown jersey blended with the ball. How sensitive can you be
