In the demos section, I’d also include defensive demos. So often does the opponents’ second man sit in the midfield waiting for a pass to shoot on net. As you’re rotating back, pick them off and boom - no shooter, no shot on your net.

It is worth mentioning that when you make changes in any facet of your life, including Rocket League, try to introduce one or two concepts at a time rather than trying to crunch them all in at once. If all the sudden you are doing boost management, circular rotations and demos all at the same time when you hadn’t been doing so before, you won’t be focused enough to make sure you are properly learning each concept. This is the area where bad habits form. Instead, take one or possibly two pieces at a time. It may feel like it is going to take longer to train it all, but as they say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

The biggest things I’ve learned that has helped me hit champ is to demo on rotations, fast aerials and fake challenges.

Being an old fart with bad eyes and severe arthritis in my hands, Im gonna give these a try because they are more of the mental side of the game and see what happens, especially the "back post" strategy. Mechanically speaking im limited by my hand issues but mentally i think i can improve and maybe make it out of D1 this season.

Been playing only for a couple days. I have good sense for the game so I actually perform decently well against other new players. I know I’ll get slammed in ranked though, I literally feel like dribbling is magic. I can’t even keep it on the car when I start it on my roof in freestyle. I also can’t seem to get the car to rotate how I am trying to not land on my roof and flip. Love the skill ceiling, this is how I felt early on learning how to play dota2. These videos are helping, but yeah, dribbling is magic.

Really appreciate the tips. Great visualizations! However, the random numbers like "X% players do", "Y-times better" are really annoying, since they seem completely unfounded.

as of now 61k people should now know why some of their team8s dont know when to "take the shot". cuz sometimes i dont know when to take the shot or go for the ball, when my team8 keeps not rotating properly, or solo playing in 2s or 3s(expects the team8 to know what they are thinking when they dont give any signs on when they are going for the ball or not going for it)

There is one note to add, it is actually more beneficial to be parallel to the post closest to the ball and turn into the net since you can move with the ball making it slower and easier to react to in reference to your car. So inside the net fully parallel to the wall on the side of the ball anytime you can make it there safely otherwise back post is a good second option during rotation if you can't make it

Very situational. Not only does it take more time which on its own already limits its use for several reasons, It also kills all your momentum which then requires you to use a lot more boost to get going for a counter play. So while I agree that it has its use, It is in no way always the better option, which you seem to be arguing that it is. I am GC3 for reference. If you are in the same ball park, or better yet, higher, please do expand on you point, bc as of now, I do not agree.

@@KeWidundret I already described that if you can't make it the other option is better just for that reason, I could see the boost argument but during a rotation where you get there in time you can usually gather pads and end up with more plus your momentum during a save is actually a bad thing in this circumstance as it's counter to the ball, during any slow play this would make it hard to win although if someone just cleared towards the net it obviously doesn't matter the same way, what I'm talking about is specifically just positioning for the safest coverage of a dangerous play if you have the time to get there obviously there would be quite a lot of chance to change it up also I'm c2 in 2s rn but moreso a testament to me not playing and my inconsistency with my adhd as I'm pretty mechanical and will play 1v1 GC player friends often enough and do pretty well I win occasionally afterall in close sets pretty equally so idk I'd say I understand the game enough to give that bit of insight it's just basic physics that it is a better position a lot of people end up caught in bad situations always trying to go back post when it's really moreso beneficial as an extra option if it's safe due to various other reasons. There's also the extra reason that people often pass right back to the enemy when doing back rotation on close dangerous plays when if you're positioned in the ned you leave yourself covering and shooting forward regardless leaving less room to directly pass back if you get a good touch

There is one problem with rotations. In the lower ranks if you rotate your teamates dont since they don’t know how to. This problem always occurs in gold lobbies or lower.

I'm really ashamed to admit this but I got almost 2k hours and I've never hit GC. I've gotten to c3 once. I've been stuck in c1 to c2 for idk how many years. Just wish I could well get better. Like my brain knows what to do or what I want to do and I just can't get my fingers to do what I'm asking of them. Honestly thinking about just calling it a day and stop playing. I don't have the time to train or practice and yeah. Just feel like I'm so far behind now. Anyways Luke as always GREAT video. I've used alot of your videos and have improved. Is this new season easier or do you rank higher at the beginning of the season... I'm diamond2 in both 3s and 2s this season. Last season I was a 'respectable' plat... Sometimes seesawing between plat and diamond in 2s... Now I'm mid diamond with still no mechs? I really don't feel like I'm any better.

The prob I have right now in high plat/low diamond is that nobody understands the basic rotation/roles. I will see the ball and intentionally try to hit it soft because nobody is around and my tm8 will come from across the field and boom it. And yeah, I'm trash too mate but like try to act like you know what a team sport is.

Im fuxkin ass but i lowkey just wanna get a lil bit better just to have a lil more fun in the game but its hard for me to understand the logic of the movements in the game
