The Only Reason Anyone Should Come To The Swamp | Swamptopia #15
Ойындар
In episode #15 of Swamptopia, I tackle the task of producing aluminium, BEFORE oil. Because reasons. Also pipes are jank af.
SWAMP ONLY RUN RULES:
• Cannot leave the swamp biome, according to the biome map.
• Can enter/exit caves from within the swamp, even if the cave extends beyond the swamp biome, as long as you do not exit the cave into another biome.
• Cannot use advanced game settings.
• Creature hostility must be left at default setting.
• Arachnophobia mode is not allowed.
• Cannot load a previous save unless the current save is corrupt.
• Cannot use any method to re-roll hard drives to obtain desired alternate recipe.
• Cannot interact with anything when travelling to the swamp at the start of the run, or if for any reason you respawn outside of the swamp.

Same here. This play thru is so much more interesting than others. Instead of being frustrated by newbie mistakes and yelling at my TV, I'm cheering and feeling amazed at the ingenuity and skill of serisak. Also, his design skills are just top notch.
Because the aluminum scrap refineries produce extra water that feeds back into your loop, I think they are providing the "network head lift" necessary to get the water that high.

I think this is the answer. The pipes are connected to a water producer with a certain Z-axis value, so the game sets that as the base level and therefore water in the system can be lifted to that level before being limited by headlift restrictions. Try build a pipe 20m straight up from an extractor and see if it gets 50% full, then join it up to the loop and see what happens.
The most underrated [Satisfactory] KZreadr I think I've ever seen. Just binged the entire series. Fantastic content, editing and humour. Some stunning builds too.

Love your Swamptopia! One Doggo's name could be... Serge :)
The fact that you got over 2000 hours in this game. And you're still dismantling without the filter is crazy. And built that amazing world without blueprints is beyond me.
Absolutely love the dry humour
ahahaha ... I needed this. Love the content, such a great build. You are a madman for this challenge, not sure I could keep a killing schedule going for coal ...
Watching this series is so funny because the 1.0 are gonna make this 10x easier, but I respect the hell out of it.
I forgot the name, so I KZread searched "satisfactory Swamp biomass burner challenge" and found it again! :) - see you again in a couple months! Love that you're still at it!
It'd be great to see a montage of how your mob fighting skills have improved over the episodes.. comparing the early episode struggles with the current expert strats.
Brilliant as always. Just murderous with the snowballs by now. Music choices are fantastic. Love it.
450 oil... ALMOST there. Congrats mate! Game is about to get A LOT easier!
Your refinery output water (being fed back into the system) is setting the "system pressure/lift level" to their level, effectively creating a negative pressure/siphon scenario for your extractors; that's why you don't need pumps. In short : think of your refineries acting like an elevated water reservoir, creating pressure in the system.
Thanks, for all the great entertainment.

Thank you so much!
The results of what you're making here make it clear that its worth the effort - although, you probably didn't need to buy all that plastic, you don't need to punish yourself further than you already are!
best and really addicting playthrough. love it!
I know how the pipes work in this game: Badly.
Here's why your water extractor aren't requiring pumps.... Some of your refinery output water, and the height of your water headlight is equal to that height. You could have one water pump/refinery at 1000m height, and that would allow all extractors at 0m height to magically pump to 1010 meters.
I think you should name the doggos Tod. Every one of them.
your dedication is commendable ser, well done, keep it up!
i admire your persistence!
Dude! I can't wait to see what madness you build with that resource well. Please tell me you are going to build a Fuel Generator plant on the water, so you can ramp up production! That resource well should be able to support at least 15 generators, I think.
I know this challenge will end at some point. But unlike you, I don't want it to.

man i just love these vids!!! i can't wait to see more and see what you do/make after this
Not only could you have bought the computers for tickets, you could have bought a stack of radio control units for one more ticket...
Yes! more swamp. Lets go!
You probably already know this, but just in case, there is an Alternate Recipe to turn Petrolium Coke (which you can make from Heavy Oil Residue when you eventually get Oil) into Steel Ingots, no idea how you'll get the required Hard Drives though
31:23 Or, you know... buy the radio control units directly...

@@Sephyricon😶 oh my god.. .... it's laughable how blind I am to the parts in the shop. Even when editing, I didn't notice the radios sat right next to the computers. I even had the video paused. I'd cry if it wasn't so funny🤣🤣

@@serisak Haha, yes, it is really funny! And a bit sad, but mostly funny! I'm glad you can laugh at it. :D I truly thank you for all the effort you have put in to this series, it is one of the best I have ever seen. So even if it took you twice as long as needed to make it, the result is pure gold.
God I would love to see a screenshot of hours played on this save at the end of each episode
At last I smell progress. Nah that was creature livers! Can't wait for you to start fracking. I had a goal for my last save and it is not to go into the swamp., but I broke it by going after a hard drive slightly in the swamp. Love your videos, keep it up. I sense something in the near future now.
All the doggos are named phil its easier that way , you never forget a dogs name again lol
I've asked a question about setting up an angle of Flood Lights on Steam forum recently and some people replied that we actually need more lightning options. I've watched quite a few videos over last 3 or so months and everyone is using signs to create lighting in their factories. They give more options and are more flexible. And you don't have to fiddle with cables. It would be nice if CSS expand lights a bit more at some point after 1.0 release.
I still cannot fathom why you would subject yourself to this xD But I guess that is the nature of challenge runs.
Name a doggo Crystal, for the color of the water that doesn't exist in the swamp. IDK, I just yeeted a word onto the page that could be interpreted as a name. Back to lurking I go.
16:24 yeah, I was going to say this :D
just a thought, if you connect all the pipes together, you only need one pump. healdlift applies to the entire network...... woah strange that you didnt add a single pump to get the water to the top. must be a bug of some type. EDIT: doggo names. just name them the next thing you get from them when you collect lol. Caterium, Copper, and Mycelia lol if you get a duplicate, just wait to name them until you get a unique item from them.
Dev's know how pipes are intended to work. However, that's how software development ist. The intention what a piece of code should do, and reality may, may be slightly different. - Or in other words - is this a bug or a feature?

When 1.0 comes out, will you keep this save on Update 8 or update it to 1.0?
@serisak
20 күн бұрын
@@AveragePinwormEnjoyer I have a legacy version of update 8 saved to my pc, so once 1.0 is released I can chose between versions. My plan is to complete Swamptopia in update 8 before 1.0 releases, after that perhaps I will revisit it in 1.0 and see whether or not I can actually finish the full game.

@@serisak Probably a stupid question, but how do you "isolate" the game from Steam updates (and have multiple version available)? Depending on how badly 1.0 breaks my current save, thay might be a handy option ^^
@serisak
20 күн бұрын
It's as simple as just going in your steam library, in the list of games to the left, right click Satisfactory -> Manage -> browse local files, and copy everything to a new folder somewhere else on your PC (I have it on a separate drive). This will be a copy of the version currently available on steam, so you'll need to do this before it is updated to 1.0 To play this version you just go into your copied folder and run the FactoryGame.exe app from there.
