It’s easy to make things complicated; but it’s difficult to make them simple. You have the ability to show the complications in a very simple way. And that’s makes you a great teacher. BTW, I teach photography since 1981 and show my students very simple methods similar to yours to get good photos. Frankly you are better. Subscribed.

I've taken a couple classes over the past decade and a half and while they're fun, I never really developed an eye for it, not even really improving during the semester. Which is a shame because I love the act of taking photos and experimenting. I'm heading home in a few minutes and will be watching this and following along his video, thanks!

I’m a year late since you posted this but THANK YOU. I am not a beginner, but I still wanted to see if you had anything to teach me (and you did). But 42 minutes? I played this at 1.75 speed and it was perfect for me. For anyone wanting to learn product photography this is worth the time. I’ve seen at least a dozen other videos on the same topic. While they all stress the overall goal of controlling light, everyone has something unique to teach you, including this gent. Watch as many as you can until you find methods that fit your needs and your budget.
I have never (ever) commented on a KZread video but have to thank you on this one. This is the most useful, simple, concrete and actionable KZread photography video I have seen re: product photography 🙏🏾🤩

I... I have no words to express how enthralling this video is. To retain an audience for 40+ minutes without bullshit is one of the hardest things to do, and the fun fact is that you are teaching. I know everything you told us through this video - I know about camera settings, painting with light, using flash, using a radio trigger, I know about manual settings of a camera and why it is important, what a softbox does, how to make a DYI softbox, everything - yet I watched the video in one go, and this is what a great teacher does. The experience was like being in an orchestral concerto, except this was an educational video on photography. As you mentioned, this video covers everything a photographer needs to "know", the rest is up to them (or us) to experiment, play with, and just have fun. My teacher once said, "It's not about what edits you do on your photos, it's always about what you capture inside that 35mm frame.", and you captured light. I sincerely thank you for making this video, for it is not only educational but also inspirational. You have covered a complex, hard to understand, topic in an extremely simple process. Thank you. You have earned a subscriber and a new like. I'm proud to be a part of this experience.
