In summary... 1. Find the right match up 2. Always count enemy's ammo 3. Don't use auto aim too much 4. Check how close your super is 5. Use the 2nd star power if possible, and the gadget depends on your playstyle 6. Play mortis in good modes

I never knew how to use Mortis and this guide really taught me how to use him. Honestly just the 5 notes mentioned (without the sample clips) already made a big difference for me. It would have been more helpful if you went over the interactions more, for example saying when to commit in a 1v1 scenario depending on the specific brawler because sometimes there are matches where you don't play well into any of the brawlers. More full gameplay would have helped, preferably 3v3 although showdown is more entertaining. A problem with Mortis is that it can be quite ping dependent which is why some people can't Mortis like Crying Man. The format of this video is very good. I think think the build should be at the beginning of the video. Let's make this series blow up! Maybe Fang or Ash next🤔

Ping does make a difference but we can agree that most Mortis players are just plain shit. There are probably 20% of Mortis players who are decent, elite players like crying man and rmz64 fall into the top 3%. Most people wouldn't be able to Mortis like Crying man even if their ping was good because they aren't strategic, each of the dashes needs to be planned but the majority just freestyle it, auto aim or just go after any brawler they see.

You can do a juking guide, I imagine it wouldn't take as long as a brawler guide, and it's very underrated... Sometimes the best juke is to move in a straight line where your opponent predicts you to juke. Also, walking to places the enemy won't expect you to go, like dodging bow shots by walking up the map, dodging all three shots. And also hiding in bushes near the opponent in the corner where the opponent wouldn't expect.

Please Please Please make more guides like this!!!! Watching this made me realise how much thought goes into each of your movements and attacks I have been a bs players for years but I am still quite nooby i think it is because I never realise that i should count ammos and stuff Anyways, this is a great video, and I am sure it is the best Mortis guide one could find on KZread :)))

One more tip: Continously check the range of your big dash, try to go close enough to enemy brawler by moving and dodging, attack when your first dash hits the enemy, this way you won't waste your ammo.

@nightrap playz Mortis has a very high movement speed. So it's easy to dodge. Just walking randomly in all directions could save you from getting hit. Try it out, buddy! 😁

There aren't that many good tutorials out there, so I was so excited when I saw the community post you said, I really hope you continue this series.

thanks for the guide! it’s already very good so some minor improvements: it is more work but maybe you can list all the brawlers it counters and gets countered by. because sometimes i’m not sure if they are “high/low dps” :( and it will be easier for us to choose/don’t choose the counters when playing PL. also maybe you can list some brawlers it works well with for eg: gene + max. poco + tank. (might not be applicable for all brawlers tho) thanks for taking the time to read all the comments and making the videos! 😻

I don’t know if you need the help and I’m no expert. One of the most important factors to being good at Mortis is, you need to know who you can beat. Counters to Mortis are the ones that can do a lot of damage close up. This includes brawlers like Shelly, Bull, Griff, Leon, and other brawlers that do quick burst attacks. Mortis is good against brawlers that are better at long range. These are brawlers like Dynamike, Barley, Sprout, Grom, Rico, Tick, Piper (without super), and other brawlers like that. He’s also good against low health brawlers that he can kill relatively quick with only 3-4 attacks. Hope this helped out a little bit!

@@pagatoss yeah. There are of course more counters like Gale, Tara, Gene, EMZ, Bibi, El Primo, and Surge. Some more than others. He’s also bad against tanks. And most other assassins.

Great mortis guide, i always have been a bit scared playing mortis but now I feel more confident, i think you should do a sharpshooter next and one that doesn't get a lot of balance changes.

Thanks for the guide cryingman! Could you also include any special tricks for the brawlers in certain modes? For example, brawl balls tips on how to practice any characters's self-pass or trick shots (i.e. mortis self-pass, primo dive, fang self-pass, Shelly Wall break shots) or unique dps tricks in certain modes (i.e. using Darryl's gadget on the safe in heist)?

i used to only play showdown or knockout, but after watching this, i decided to play some brawl ball. the thing is, since i only played gamemodes where only "kills" matter, i don't really know how to play 3v3 modes well if i'm being honest. this guide helped me get better at 3v3 in general and mortis too so thanks

I personally like survival shovel more, got me out of countless sketchy situations. Combo spinner is still good for that extra damage though (Used to be 2nd place Mortis in my country)

Another tips) Mortis can cancel his basic attack motion while dashing to wall, so you can aim your basic attack to wall to deal damage fast. Another tips 2) you can pre-input your next basic while dashing. when you do this, you can attack your basic with almost no delay, so it is helpful when you want to fastly charge super and go out (like cryingman charged super by long basic attack - short basic attack combo

Great video! I had an intuitive sense for most of these things but some specifics are great (5 hits for a super, "chaining" super, etc)

The guide was really nice. I honestly think a gene or max guide will be nice. Max will be a top 5 brawler once crow gets nerfed and I think learning how to play max would be nice. I also see a lot of players including myself struggling to play gene properly so a guide about that would be nice as well. Good content as always 👍.

In summary for playing Mortis well you need to be patiet, now I understood why there is so many bad Mortis around as they cant be patience for waiting for the right time to attack. Anyways really good guide, wish to see more like this in future.

Step 2: install brawl stars

I use coiled snake and survival shovel, looks like I've been using the worst build up since I got him to power 9. 😶 I think the first two tips, especially the second one, is really useful. I would never have thought to count how many ammo they still have, I would only see if they are attacking or not before deciding to go in I'm not a good mortis player, I'd love to hear some suggestions about the build up I'm using 🙏
