Hi everyone and welcome back to my channel! Today's video is all about how to #growyourhair, #preventdamage and #keepithealthy ! If you enjoy this video please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel if you'd like to see more! All products mentioned are linked here xx
Extra hair care tip I forgot to mention! Don’t use everyday towels to dry your hair, invest in a microfibre towel or use a cotton t-shirt to dry your hair. When you wrap your hair up in your normal towel, there is a lot of breakage that occurs due to the friction they cause. As well, they can cause breakage by wrapping your hair up in them and they cause so much fizz!! So especially if you have curly hair, use a cotton t-shirt or microfibre towel!

For sure! I’ve gotten some great tips and product recommendations from watching black beauty and hair care vids, especially the natural/ low chemical ones. I’m also in awe of what some of the hairstylists who specialize in black hair can do - so much creativity and versatility!
Be Kind🌸🖤 i found this awhile ago on yt finger brushing your hair before using a hair brush works wonders!! also as someone with poor eyesight i’d rather feel my hair then rip through any knots.. ( if i can help it ) i’m still learning with it, i often have my rattail brush/comb with me whenever i finger brush my hair.

You're absolutely right, that's the real deal. You started with the two that's help me the most. Scalp massages (hands and brush), letting it get 'oily' (1 week wash works for me), and it has never grown so fast.

When I was younger and first was trying to grow my hair really long, I ended up looking up so many KZread videos on how to cut my own hair so I wouldn’t have this problem anymore 😂😂 surprisingly it’s not too hard to do, as long as you are patient and get proper hair cutting tools!

Ask for a dusting! That's what my mom used to tell the hair stylist back when my hair was knee length. Basically they only cut JUST like aa centimeter of the ends to get rid of the split ends. That way you don't have to worry that they're going to cut all your hair off.
Good tips! I'd love to see the green smoothie video.

Thank you so much for this video gorgeous! :)❤️ I will cut my hair off because I literally bleached it to death, I’m so exited to let it grow long and healthy, I always had longer hair, but it was always really damaged and looked so bad. I also got a quick question, you trimmed your hair every 2/3 months, how much exactly did you trim? I don’t know what’s too much or too little 😅 thank you for sharing this video with us :)

Ahh I’m so proud of you!! It’s not an easy decision to make but it’s for the best, and ur hair will thank you for it! The first time I cut my hair when I was serious about growing it long & healthy I cut off all the dead ends, so about 4-5 inches probably. Then after that I just did about an inch every time I went for a cut! hope this helps 🥰🥰🥰
I oil my hair once a week and wash it every 4 days would it be ok to put oil just on the ends every 2 days?
So I finally had beautiful long hair then I bleached it to death then chopped it off in February then did another chop in April because it was still fried my hair started growing again and looks short but healthy now I’m hoping it’s Atleast a little past my shoulders by December
@skiinbymeg

So glad you took the step to chop off your dead ends and have your hair be healthy, its a hard decision but it's going to help sooo much with maintaining the health and length of your hair! Wishing you the best of luck with your hair growth journey, with a little bit of patience and putting some extra love and care into your hair I'm sure you will be able to hit your goal by December! xx
The SunBabe brand of lightening spray is a much healthier option to lighten your hair

Its really just bleach in a bottle. If you buy hair developer and mix it with water and spray it on, pretty much the same thing as the devloper usually contains a small percentage of hydrogen peroxide to lighten your hair. Just thought Id share so you guys can save some money

Hi! I have curtain bangs down to my chin and I want to grow them out fast. How long do you think they’ll take to get to my shoulder? Six months?
@skiinbymeg
2 жыл бұрын
Hii!! Since on average your hair goes half an inch I would say 4-6 months! 💕💕
If you are taking care of your hair and do noting to demage it there is no point in trimming it every 2 months. Not even 3. If your hair grows 2 cm in 2 months and the hair dresser is very nice they will take 2 cm off because they can't only cut a few millimeters... That means you cut off everything you grew. But usually they are horrible human beings and cut at least 5 cm which will shorten your hair month by month. I used to be obsessed over cutting my hair so it won't break and it just kept getting shorter over the years when all I wanted was to have long hair. I will only trimm it twice a year. After all I am taking good care of it. How often would I need to trim it if I used heat daily? 2 months is just extremely often...
@comment3711

I agree and only trim it when the ends get split and it’s snaggly looking. Saves a lot of money not going to the salon 12 times a year too!
Thanks. 💓💗💓

Conditioner gets an oil treatment out earlier than shampooing multiple times.
@skiinbymeg
3 жыл бұрын
Omg I had no idea about this!! 👀 do you massage your conditioner into your scalp too?
@ambernoland1506
3 жыл бұрын
@@skiinbymeg yes, and I meant easier, not earlier lol... you can massage the conditioner onto your scalp, just make sure you thoroughly rinse it out. It's no different than cowashing, really.
Parabens actually aren’t bad for you and are some of the safest most tested preservatives, the preservatives companies have to use in place of them often have a much shorter history and less studies done on them and can thus cause irritation or have long term effects we don’t know about yet. Sulfates is somewhat similar where the alternatives can be way harsher, but that is more about personal preference. But don’t avoid ingredients just because a brand says they are “[ingredient]-free”, it’s just marketing and buzzwords

The Moroccan oil color depositing mask is a great option, you use it in place of your conditioner and it will help revive your color! You can purchase it through Sephora! Hope this helps!
