Can I mention what Fr Jack left out (otherwise it would be a three hour movie) There are also nursing care centers, hospitals and homebound, visits. One meets with families to prepare for funerals; and couples for marriage and funerals. In addition to the catholic grade school, there is also the R.E. programs and youth group. A priest is always walking on sacred ground. It is an awesomely outstanding life.

Until I became part of our pastoral council I never knew how hard priests work every day. I was totally blown away, humbled, and lost in admiration. Priests have to be supermen and only due to the power of Christ can they succeed.

@@carlodizon45 i was catholic 35 yrs my friend, now i study and enjoy teaching Bible Truth. tell me, do you believe God's people know Him, love Christ and walk in Truth, according to the Word of God, or do they not? it's a basic question in Christianity, easily answered with Scripture. *Happy Sabbath!!!* i pray church this morning is a blessing for all who do know God, love Christ and walk in Truth.

@@tony1685 Tony, you seem to think that one can have allegiance to the Bible or to the Catholic church, but not both. But where do you think the Bible came from? It didn't fall from the sky. It was the Bishops of the Catholic Church, conferring with one another, that decided what belonged in the New Testament and what didn't. It was the Bishops who decided to approve the Muratorian canon, but not the Gospel of Thomas or the Proto-Evangelium of James. We don't have a Bible based church, we have a Church based Bible.

Now that im older and wiser (allegedly) , i can safely say i picked the wrong lifestyle because i was so naive as a teenager. Now im in my 40s and reeeally wish i had chosen the priesthood. Ive been exploring joining a monestary, just need to get debt free before i do. The religious life is definitely calling me.

Buddy, I lived alone at 25 and unfortunately my archbishop interviewed me and said a week later I wasn't being called. I wanted to start the sacrament.

I could not go that long without coffee. I try to rise at 4AM to get ready for work at 6AM. Its harder without the hot caffeine.

@@MikeXCSkier nope. Celibate priesthood has been a disciple in the Latin Church for centuries. Priest shortage has never been a problem until after Vatican II.

The life of a priest is one of sacrifice and discipline moreso than other professions. In other professions for instance, you need not be so strict in your personal life. A priest on the other hand is never off duty.

I was thinking of becoming a Priest after leaving University,but it was not to be.This was in the Mid 1970’s.You never if I became a Priest,I could be a Bishop or Archbishop now.There again maybe a Cardinal.

The vicar general in my Archdiocese was a navy chaplain, so while he is assigned to the military ordinariate, some priests serve full time in the military as chaplains or padres, some, like him, also minister to civilians.

A Priest's life is not always so chill like in this video. You also have to do anointing of the sick and confessions, and your schedule can be interrupted at any moment. Plus if you speak too much truth you will get canceled.

What's the logic of going to confession AFTER mass? I go to confession every week before Sunday mass, that way I can receive Holy Communion. Seems to me having confession after mass is preventing people from receiving Holy Communion.

You guys should leave the novus Ordo religion and become catholic priests. It might be worth reading a book written by father Cekada called “work of human hands”.

The sad thing is that Catholic people are not taught the Bible. I was a devoted practeing Catholic for 53 years in all that time we were never taught the old testament nor the book of revelation why is this. What I learned is that this church has kept us from the truth. One very important question of many why in the history of this church this church never taught the book of revelation that Jesus told about his second Advent

Why don’t you wear the cassock? Do you not pray the Breviary? Do you not pray the Rosary? Our priests do all these things. Do you not realise that Satan hates the cassock. He must love you cod you’re the not wearing one.

They get paid a minimal salary from the Archdiocese they work in.Not the Vatican.Clergy do not pay income tax in the United States.
