On HP% viability: HP boots is semi viable with fast bronya, I prefer speed. HP orb is dps increase by a tiny percent with bronya. Hp Chest is 10+% dps loss. HP rope is best in slot, ERR is dps loss. HP rope + one other mainstat max, three mainstats is DPS loss. Also account for the fact that more HP means you also need Luocha. Oh and just to note Mutual is actually better and maybe the best F2P option now to updated calcs, but its still hard with Luocha on the squad. E6 is 1.25x the number of follow ups. And Weakness Break on multiple enemies only heals ONCE. Also Auto battle AI was updated on Bronya as I was uploading, but again couldn’t add. Finally HP sphere is usable since HP buffs are scarce rn, but only viable with Luocha. Well done, I've noticed many positive changes in presentation of information in your clips! As for the Blade himself, I like Wind element but I'm gonna skip this guy for 3 reasons, at least for now. 1) I'm f2p and I don't play manually, it's time consuming. I like teams that function well on auto. 2) I don't really have resources for another char right now, I'm already raising 12 characters out of 20 that I have unlocked. 3) 4*s on his banner are not my cup of tea at all.

The only con about Luocha, his automatic healing can cleanse valuable DoTs that can help speed up your follow-up I feel like this is relevant enough to mention, it tends to happen every fight.

On the point about the buffing AI, it seems in the patch notes they updated bronya's and tingyun's AI 'logic' when it comes to buffing people. this may make it so they will sense that characters like blade are the better person to buff, i could be totally wrong tho

The Light Cone issue is actually a strong reason I went for Silverwolf. The free light cone that came with her was so good that it felt like she wasn't missing anything. Blade on the other hand... I would love a wind damage dealer, but I can't gamble going for him when I don't even have a serviceable light cone. I'm expecting to go for Fu Xuan to round out my Quantum teams, but after her, I'm planning to save for a long time in case we get a great Light Cone for one of the characters I already have, or we get a character I want and I also want to pull their Light Cone. I would rather have a smaller roster if that means I am really happy with how I've built them rather than a large roster where I feel like they are operating at 80% of their best.

The free LC was why I pulled Silver Wolf without a second thought. As an F2P, small things like these mean a lot. If I get Blade, I will have to use the 3-star LC because I don’t have the Herta shop one or A Secret Vow. Important to note that, A Secret Vow being a standard 4-star LC is available on all banners so I can get it eventually without specifically pulling on the LC banner. But I’m still hesitant for a few reasons, I want Fu Xuan AND Lynx. I can still guarantee Fu Xuan if I do get another limited character before her. But I am just not that into getting someone who I don’t really want and spend weeks farming for them. Another reason is that I’m afraid, if I get Balde now, he will be very underwhelming with a 3-star LC, without proper Supports and gear. Which will leave a bad taste.

With a secret vow he's still the #1 aoer and #4 st dps (when comparing e0). I don't see why you'd feel forced to get his LC. Prydwen didn't even do the calcs for his dmg with his signature they used secret vow.

After doing some testing, I've found that HP% body is pretty comparable to crit damage on body and has the added benefit of the game throwing HP% pieces at you so godrolls will be much easier to come by. Thanks for the guide.

On a side note, kinda miffed about Jingyuan and Erudition after seeing Blade's numbers, makes me caution about characters from Erudition moving forward without any shakeup, but it is what it is *shrugs* 😢

Very helpful guide (both yours and Grimro's)! I decided to go for Blade over Kafka because building her would be a pain and I risk not getting either Sampo or Luka for her best team (that I also need to build). I decided it would be better for me to wait until her rerun. On the other hand, I have all Blade supports built (Bronya, Luocha, S2 Secret Vow) already and he's a very nice bruiser going forward (because I think he will fall off as Hypercarry in the future, but still be an amazing secondary damage dealer). Now, if only I had resources for both DHIL and Fu Xuan...

You can risk it but blade LC isn’t too universal , and shared feeling would be sad to drop, but Vow and SP are pog. As you said characters are great, and stellar sea is nice on him provided it’s not on someone else

Could you do a guide on relics building specific stats? Like I don't get how I'm supposed to reach 70% crit rate for Rutilant Arena without a crit rate chest piece. Are crit rate substats enough to reach that amount? I use inert Salsotto on my Clara and she has 51.5% crit rate WITH a crit rate chestpiece. I got some crit rate subs, but I have no idea how I can reach 70%.

As the vid says he has a ton of free crit rate, remember the new set doesn’t show crit rate out of the menu screen, it’s during the fight. You can still go inert

Hey Guoba thanks for the guide really helps iron out the idea I want for him. I ended up building Asta (Should have gone Yukong but hindsight is 20/20 and I'm going to try for Jingliu as well and run Luocha-Yukong-Jingliu-Blade as a dual carry team comp because it sounds really fun.) and Tingyun for him (I have Yanqing who is using Pela and SW. I can hot-swap supports as needed.) at least for now. I also managed to get his LC early which was a massive win... even if I grabbed S4 Secret Vow in the process. As soon as I get Bronya (300 pulls on standard incoming at some point.) he is going to go from a monster to... I guess a bigger monster? In any case. Thank you for the guide.

Imma try to see If I can win Blade. If I do then I'll use Arlan's Light cone on him as that is the best 4* light cone (From what I heard) other then his 5* one and the good 3* one. I thought the fall of a aeon would be good on him but it's probably better on Clara Dan Heng IL or Jing Liu.

Blade will get a rerun eventually, and not having his LC hurts quite a bit imo (unless you have Secret Vow at S5). Better to just save for his rerun and fully invest in him, LC and maybe even Eidolons included.

i was saving for Blade for 63 days and he was so considerate to bring Bronya with him (means i lost the 50/50 XD). i also got his LC so i'm good in that department. team's gonna be Blade, Bronya, Pela and Lynx, when she's finally here (Bailu until then). i just recently watched your new guide on Bronya and as far as i understood, she needs lower SPD than Blade so that he can attack, she then uses her skill and he attacks again? did i get that right? @@ (Bronya's getting the PR LC and the new SPD set since i'm farming that cavern for Blade anyway)

I would suggest going to the Honkai Star Rail leaks subreddit to see everything, but the short version is that Fu Xuan’s skill gives the team a buff that increases crit rate and redirects a huge amount of their damage taken to herself. Then, her talent heals herself whenever she drops below 50% health, and her ult does damage based on her HP and gives her more uses of her talent.

5 base, 17 with traces, 33 with 4 pc, 41 with 2 pc. So 10 crate subs which is endgame level sub value, or you get e2 or s1 and get very close without any subs. If you can’t reach it , inert is amazing on him too

Thanks to immense luck I have Bronya + her LC. The biggest concern for me is the last slot in Blade team. Is it worth building Pela to 79/80 for Blade and Yanqing? My Pela is currently lv 65 with event LC lv 70, E6 and traces 6/10. She is good for her own niche but I have a feeling she is vulnerable to power creep very soon, which also shows with Silver Wolf 😢

Don’t need to max her level or traces, only ult and get talent to 7 for the 2 turn rotation with tutorial LC, but pela is a great unit ^^ even with sw she has her uses due to def stacking and sp positivity

@@guobacertified thank you. I will leave her level as it is and invest a bit more on her traces and relics then. This game really gives me power creep vibe unlike genshin so I have a strong fomo when building a character. But hey at least we have guoba to tell us who is worth investing into 😄

i hope you make a video on how going full hp% on blade will cause f2p natasha to not be able to heal him back up to around 80%-100% so that he can always max out his ultimate hp loss tally. i remember you mentioned something about it in your comment to gacha smack's full hp% build.

I wanna ask, does the Blade's signature LC will be good if I give it to Arlan? Because I'm not pulling this daddy, but the LC really makes me interested into pulling it Also, thanks for feeding me with another good food this morning

Not sure, havent done calcs on arlan with new wep but he doesnt wanna be hit so its hard for him to max it, have to see if going to 1hp from 1 hp counts for the passive

Not good. It gives crit, HP and Atk and followup attack damage, Arlan only benefits from the crit and atk.

@@Doflaminguard It doesn't give follow up attack damage, it increases damage whenever the user loses HP (Arlan skill, Ult after being hit, DoT damage, etc.), so Arlan actually does benefit from every stat the LC gives, just that he can't reliably proc the bonus on anything other than his Skill, but this LC is quite excellent on Clara, so there's a benefit to it other than for Blade to use.

ATK gives the tiniest dmg increase ever. DEF is okay but you want HP Crit and SPD, so no space for def

Guocha and Grimro link up like Goku and Vegeta. Love to see it! Great video! Glad to see Blade is pretty good because I remember the doomposting 🤣🤣🤣

I happen upon this video hours after I pulled Blade as a f2p. Pulls were a mess. Got Clara, then Blade’s lightcone so I had to go back and get him. I have no Bronya or Luocha so I hope Luocha’s rerun is soon since he’s important for the future destruction characters 😂

Lynx, an abundance 4*character made specifically for Blade is in next patch, you don't need Luocha

Ended up getting his LC first then burning the guaranteed, now I only need to pray for Bronya to spook me, somehow, or wait until the 300/300 (I'm crying inside) Still should have enough to try for a 50/50 on Kafka though, that's comforting.

as a F2P I got Blade in my first 10 pull and had a lot left over and 40 pulls in the light cone banner, I got his signature. I have very good luck with this game as I also got 2 silver wolf in the first 10 pull on ger banner. The first 5 star I ever got was also Bronya. I almost have the perfect team.

Electric imo, unless his hp set to 1 after each skill counts for the consumption for the crit rate

Great character, got him to e2 s1, works great with Ruan Mei, Lynx and Bronya.

I am currently building clara, blade, yukong and loucha, the synergy seems there, the hardest thing will be adjusting speed for yukong. Blade is relatively slow at 97 speed and loucha is quick aswell as yukong, best case scenario would be blade being the fastest then loucha then yukong then clara however getting blade to be faster than loucha seems close to impossible so probably loucha>yukong>blade>clara. I would appreciate imput if anyone else is bulding this team

Why? The whole point of kafka is to have multiple characters on the team that can do Dot. If you are already at hard pity, you likely won't get Luka/Sampo, which are near required for Kafka to do top dps damage.

Even though a DPS that relies on Basics might break the SP economy, I really wish Forest of Swords could still regen skill points. I understand he is already SP positive purely for the fact that he only uses a SP every 4 turns, but would have been cool if Forest of Swords was treated more like a regular basic.

Balancing thrown out of the window. QQ enhance basic attack below E6 also can’t recover SP, and she already took more than blade. Blade would be insanely broken as a sub-dps if he does that.
