This really hits home with me because ever since I turned 10 I practically stopped aging and growing, and then we learned why. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and hashimotos. Only thing about it is we don't why I can't gain weight like I'm supposed too with hypo, it's supposed to be the exact opposite. Because with hypothyroidism your supposed to gain weight, unlike hyperthyroidism which is the opposite; you loose weight. But other then that, everything just kinda stopped for me. My height is only 4'11 which ig is good because I was 4'4 when doctors said I wouldn't grow anymore.. which was when I was diagnosed. But yeah, I'm currently 18, going to be 19 in Apirl but I look like I'm 13 at most. It's annoying because everyone treats me like a child all the time. I just hate it, and this really really hits home, I don't have her condition and it's not that severe no. But people always have a hard time believing my actual age and I hate it. Because of this my parents also treat me like a child and ig it's created sort of a mindset for me as of an 8 year old which really gets in the way of my development as a teenager. So this really hits home because it was sort of like watching a video based off me, except I was homeschooled all throughout high-school and I'm currently getting my ged so employers won't be like "well did you really learn or are you like... a flat eather." And I have no boyfriend. But yeah, this just really hits home.

Update: I discussed it with my parents about how I feel with the way I'm treated and my mom understands where I'm coming from and she admitted that she often forgets I'm a teenager and not a child. However she did say she will try to back off more but only if I can prove at least twice that I can handle the responsibility of being a little more independent. This is mainly because I was also diagnosed with autism and I do have some trouble with my motor skills but I see it as a huge win! However I don’t think my step dad is as understanding.
