THE OLD OAK - Official Trailer - Directed by Ken Loach

Фильм және анимация

THE OLD OAK is a special place. Not only is it the last pub standing, but it’s also the only remaining public space where people can meet in a once thriving mining community that has now fallen on hard times after 30 years of decline. TJ Ballantyne (Dave Turner) the landlord hangs on to The Old Oak by his fingertips, and his predicament is endangered even more when the pub becomes contested territory after the arrival of Syrian refugees who are placed in the village without any notice.
In an unlikely friendship TJ meets a curious young Syrian Yara [Ebla Mari] with her camera. Can they find a way for the two communities to understand each other? So unfolds a deeply moving drama about their fragilities and hopes.
THE OLD OAK is directed by BAFTA winner Ken Loach, written by BAFTA winner Paul Laverty and produced by BAFTA winner Rebecca O’Brien for Sixteen Films, all of whom continue their long-time collaboration following acclaimed films including Sorry We Missed You and I, Daniel Blake.

Shukran in Arabic means Thank You. There should be a sixth star, hidden in this film site, the one that should be kept ony and exclusively only for the films like this one. This one is not just abuout Syrian refugees in UK, it's not even only about UK people. It is about all of us in the whole World. Every day less and less people care about situation in Ukraine. Then there's Israel and Palestinians. But does even anybody rememers Syrians. LIke ...they wanished. This film is a narative drama. Practicaly almost a documentary. Fortunately, Ken Loach, the director and screenwriter got to make this film. And he is obviously The Right person to tell this ...story. It's a story, must be to produce a film, but at the same time it's much more thatn a story. It's a hi-story of Syrians, British people and us, the rest of The World. Who forgot about Syria. Lately I have seen different life stories. Some fictional, some based on the true story. Movieng all of them. But this is a story about our whole planet. A real thing. Happening as I write this words. Syrian government forces have committed gross violations of human rights and the war crimes of murder, hostage-taking, torture, rape and sexual violence, recruiting and using children in hostilities and targeting civilians. French court issues arrest warrant for Bashar al-Assad for complicity in war crimes. That's all what the whole World has done for milions Syrian refugees who's closest members of family has been tortured and murdered. These are facts you won't find in this move like this. To end this too long review...the film is must see one. Excellent complete production, at the same time warm, full of hate and empathy, lost of faith and hope, and the return of it. It would be at least decent to see this film.

When people eat together whether it’s family or people that are the different culture and you’re just beginning to introduce each other to your Family of communities…. it’s a social event. Breaking bread with family, friends and new people in your life is a social event. Yes, I said that twice to emphasize it.

If there's one thing that economic migrants like to do once they instantly skip the multiple year-long housing waiting list, it's hanging out down at the local pub and sharing food with the locals. Wow that's perhaps the first "Asylum seeker" I've seen that isn't a male in his 20's or 30's. Do indigenous Brits have a right to maintain their nation or not? These economic migrants are only doing what any of us would do in a similar scenario: Walk through the opened gates of the land of plenty where everything shall be given to us and the natives will have no right to argue. Our ire must be directed at those "bureaucrats" who work tirelessly day and night to make as fast as possible whites the world over a minority within their own nations, then a powerless and hated nomadic tribe and eventually extinct, our genes scattered across the mass brown man. Ken Loach is sadistic sycophant or misinformed fool, but either way cannot be taken seriously. Some decent earlier material though, I'll give him that.

Just had someone comment then remive their comment that the only real indigenous brits are welsh, so are we gonna send everyone else back to Europe?? Just a tired trope of the left to overcomplicate the matter in a word salad, a semantic trap. Well as Morgoth says, I'm not playing that game. We know who the British are. Ayone who was here before the globalist scheme to import the rest of the world. Britain was still 95% indigenous by 1996. All it would take is repatriation of all those who came in afterwards from nations well beyond Western Europe and hence well beyond any true assimilation into the British race and British culture.
