that few seconds of quiet to prove his point was the quietest I've heard an RDU video. Not in a bad way, but really illustrates his point.

Here's an idea that I would be interested to see implemented in firestone: After each fight, collect the fight information with user MMR and turn information into a master database (of course with user consent). In the background, have different boards fight each other semi-randomly and assign an ELO point to each board to evaluate its strength. This will likely need nearly ~10000 boards to be meaningful, but since each game would generate about 20 boards (yours and opponents board recorded for 10 turns), it is almost certain that even with just a few users, this will generate a large enough database to assign appropriate ELO to boards. Then, whenever you're playing and have a board, Firestone can take your board and play it randomly against boards in the database to assign an ELO for your board. You can also guess a starting ELO (or use machine learning to get initial guess which should be simple to implement and should be quite accurate even with CNN) to speed up the assignment progress. This information can be useful for the following analysis: 1. See the ELO distribution at each turn to see how much people typically improve their board at that turn. 2. In game, you can assign ELO to your board at the end of the turn to see if you are strong or weak for this turn. 3. See how ELO at different turns are different for different MMR. This can help quantify the strength difference between high MMR and low MMR players. 4. Similar to 3, but for different heroes/tribe combination/etc., to quantify the respective strength difference at different turns. 5. If you lose early, you can use this tool to see if it is because you are weak early game or if your opponents on average high rolled. 6. etc... So many ways to make use of this information.

While this sounds great I feel as though it takes a lot of the skill out. Part of the game is evaluating your board state and that's where most of the skill comes in. I think that this would be awesome for post game analysis, but in game implementation would turn it into something close to an idle rpg, where you take a quick glance and make your selection before going infinite. I think the 5th use case you've highlighted is how I would like to see something like this implemented.
