This song makes me cry thinking about High School back in the 90's. I'm 34 now. Where did the time go? No more first kisses with girls, hanging out with friends after school, playing basketball, going to work for $5.15 at Cici's Pizza, putting gel in my hair. Those times are all gone and this song makes me think of a time when life was so full of possibilities. My friends and I used to talk about making our way in this world and what all we were going to accomplish. We were too young to know life would get in the way. I love Heavy Metal but The Offsping will always make me think of my youth.

I bought this album the day it came out when I was in high school and this sounds exactly like the studio recording. Well done, fellas!
I’m 40 now but this song makes me feel like I’m in high school again cruising with with my friends without a care in the world. Miss those days. Getting old sucks!
These guys have had such an influence on my life through music, and basically the sound of my youth. There songs are like pre warned experiences of what to expect from this thing we call life.
the fact that Dexter can sing this still is impressive. Dude was 49 when this was posted.
This band just has a great sound, the harmonics of the lead singers voice with the songs is perfect. I remember listening to these guys non stop in the late 90's early 2000's. I would just get lost in the harmonic.
I'm 9yo again, it's after school, I'm chilling in my room and the Americana CD is playing on the radio. I'm almost 31 now and this brings tear to my eyes. Thank you!
I've seen Offspring live 5 times in the past 5 years. And these guys sound perfect every time. One of the best live performing bands out there in my opinion.

I'am from indonesia... I'am realy like this song...a long years ago.. when i'am just a kid.. Now i'am 37 year old... Bravo THE OFFSPRING.. You're still LEGEND in my heart..
When we were young the future was so bright The old neighborhood was so alive And every kid on the whole damn street Was gonna make it big and not be beat Now the neighborhood's cracked and torn The kids are grown up but their lives are worn How can one little street Swallow so many lives Chances thrown Nothing's free Longing for what used to be Still it's hard Hard to see Fragile lives, shattered dreams Jamie had a chance, well she really did Instead she dropped out and had a couple of kids Mark still lives at home cause he's got no job He just plays guitar and smokes a lot of pot Jay committed suicide Brandon OD'd and died What the hell is going on The cruelest dream, reality Chances thrown Nothing's free Longing for what used to be Still it's hard Hard to see Fragile lives, shattered dreams Chances thrown Nothing's free Longing for what used to be Still it's hard Hard to see Fragile lives, shattered dreams
