900$ for this? Alienware 34 inch QD-OLED is like 1300$. If you think on spending 900$ on a monitor 1300$ is not far away and with discount you will be close. QD-OLED is far superior in picture quality, has better HDR, is 175hz instead of 144, looks better and is bigger. That monitor makes no sense to me especially when you consider that LG CX 48 inch is about the same price while being much better display for gaming, movies and anything you need a display for.

Sony's 3rd offical gaming monitor. The 1st was an add-on to the PlayStation One, and the 2nd, was a 3D monitor built for the PS3.

I still use my 3D monitor with my ps3.

I do think it’s dope that they carried over the ps5 design language to the monitor for those who felt their ps5 may feel out of place in their setup

Looks great, would love for Sony to do a 32 inch 4k oled monitor.

great tv’s??? bro, they have the most backward gaming features in the flagship space. from no gamebar, only 2x 2.1 hdmi to all kinds of vrr problems and unease of use.

Depends. On PC? yes, even sharpness settings. PS5 is all automatic

Niiiice. Really interesting to see where Sony goes from here. Them starting up a PC gaming company is such an obvious yet surprising thing considering how much they’re delving into PC now. Loved the video 💯

Thanks for the video, but it is driving me crazy that your PS5 does not have a stand. You may not think it, but I am sure that is obstructing airflow that it is intended to get while using the stand. The stand is not 'optional'.

Purchased this monitor when it was released and am using it with my PS5 and M1 MacBook Pro. So far I’m loving it except for some parts of the HDR. I say some parts because when watching movies and gaming in HDR, I notice the local dimming (when set to high) causing the image to exhibit haloing that looks different from what I’ve seen in other Sony LED backlight displays. This only happens in a pitch black room with no bias lighting but it’s actually kinda distracting. To the point where I feel like turning local dimming to low is a better option with HDR content. I find it’s most noticeable with contrasty HDR movie scenes but when you know what to look for it’s noticeable with pretty much all HDR content. You get haloing in the form of squiggly white lines that move around frame depending where highlighted objects/subjects are in the frame. Not sure if it’s just my panel but given that the monitor has none of the screen defects people have been posting online about, I want to say I have a solid panel. Just wondering if anyone can add to this discussion. I love this monitor and if this is a normal backlight consequence on a 27 inch screen, I’m willing to put up with it. But if it’s a defect, then I feel like I should swap it out while the return window is still good. Thanks all 🤘🏼

The screen size is 27in monitor and Sony said it should be available by this winter of 2022 and there is a cheap version at $529 not 4K but HD and a refresh rate of 240 the 4K monitor as a lower refresh rate at 144

How many people want or can fit a screen that big on their desktop? OLEDs also aren't very good in well lit rooms due to limited brightness (some only max out at 150 nits which is really dim in sunlight and LG's site doesn't even tell you the brightness in the specs section so they don't want it advertised). Not to mention burn-in risk and I know LG has tech to alleviate the risk but it's still possible. Isn't the C1 a TV btw? Monitors are just better overall for using with a PC as well.

This monitor sounds like a beast but I want it in 32 inch size😢 27 is too small for me! I like to play RPG, action and sports games so 27 inches is not for me😢

0:48 Not necessarily. I much prefer higher pixel density to higher refresh rates. For example, would rather game at 3440 x 1440p with HDR1000 at 200hz than 1920 x 1080 at 360hz with HDR600.

If i got this monitor I would probably just use a monitor arm, Not a fan of the stand. I might pick up this monitor as a secondary display, I prefer 32 inches, but still nice to see more monitors will full array dimming, I just wish it had more dimming zones, 96 seems low and will probably cause blooming in some instances.

Loved the video man! Question though, many other 2.1 monitors I’ve used in the past had a really washed out HDR system, and I fear this might also be the case with this one! Can you confirm to me that the HDR doesn’t wash out the colors?

From my observation, the hdr performance on this display is pretty good compared to its competitors. Max luminance is around 800 and the contrast is very well done. This translates to a decent hdr presentation. The blacks doesn't look grey and the colors pop out because of its brightness to contrast ratio. although the local dimming is not on par with mini leds but on the 27" class monitors, this is the champ.

Get an lg oled you can get one for like 900 dollars and its 4k 120hz with 1ms pixel response time. I think the smallest is like 48 inches. But you do have to think about burn in (its not as big of a deal as some people say but still something to take into consideration). But the picture is better than almost all tvs and monitors while also having gaming monitor performance. You also dont have to sacrifice picture quality when you switch to "game mode" like you do on a lot of monitors

@@ohok180 you can get them here in germany cheaper than the Inzone M9 but I game on monitors since years now. I currently have the Gigabyte M32U and thought about the 48 inch LG and checked out the Sony Bravia XR 50 inch model but man both are so big. :( Is it impossible for LG to make something like the C1 in 32 inch and sell it for 500 or something when the 48 inch C1 is only like 850 -900 here. I don't get it. I don't get some prices.

they got a 4k and 2k monitor if u want to play at 1080p just just your Playstation resolution which idk why u would want to do that when it supports 4k at 120

Man I would love this monitor if it were 32 in or more because I’m on a 32in predator monitor but it doesn’t have hdmi 2.1 so I’m in the market again and this one looks promising but I just don’t wanna spend 800 and have it feel like a downgrade

And only if they add 1440p and higher fps like 120hz or 90hz instead of 4k 60.

It's 4K. There is a 1080p model that'll be released at the same time...I think, but there's no 1440p model AFAIK.

i know what you mean.i have a 40 inch tv for my primary monitor and i am happy with that.no way would i get a gaming monitor for more money and less space. for some people refresh rate matters and 60 fps and for others it does not matter so much.

Monitor sounds to good to be true lol

For that money you can find 50'' or larger TVs with 4K 120hz.

its a decent 4k monitor at best. I hope to see a 32 incher with atleast a thousand nit of HDR brightness and a double count of dimming zones. oh and a full hdmi 2.1 bandwidth.

Usually its to get zoned in on an FPS game. Less eye strain. I play Warzone on a 55inch 120hz tv. Tried my sons 1440p lg monitor on the same game and it was an eye opener.

Sony saw those 5.74 billion in PC hardware sales last year and was like, hmmm we want some of that money...
