The Ocean at the End of the Lane: Neil Gaiman
Ойын-сауық
Rock star writer Neil Gaiman has a reputation for reinventing genres -- and for following his imagination wherever it leads. He's written everything from journalism to episodes of Doctor Who, fantasy horror for kids (Coraline, The Graveyard Book) to inventive comics for adults (Sandman).
Following his sold-out session at the Wheeler Centre in 2011, Neil discusses his latest novel, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, will be released in May -- but here, he offers us a sneak preview of this delicate fable with a decidedly dark edge: at once both elegant and dangerous.
In conversation with Alicia Sometimes, he describes writing his latest work, his scriptwriting for Doctor Who, why he 'sings like a novelist' and how journalism influenced his writing. And, to close the session, he reads the poem he wrote for Australia Day at Sydney Opera House.

Finaly someone who enjoy this interview like me hahah
My favorite part of Neil’s interview about Fortunately the Milk, which I love is when he says, I don’t care about directing. All I care about is the power to say, “Because I Say so.”
That excerpt of the new book freaked me the fudge out.
47:33 lol She's adorable. It's like, No Neil, I've just seen everything you've ever made, THEN I got this job.
There are many things that make me ashamed to be American, but not getting the jokes in that poem is definitely a highlight.

"..they laugh at the funny bits." So no jokes, as such, but Australians will get the humorous references. Me, I get the references but don't know which are the funny ones.
"A sad, inferior rice pudding"
I believe that has been covered. See above....
did i watch the same interview?
