This song makes me happy remembering our family gatherings at the parks every summer. Some times there'd be free performances at Fort Dupont Park. Loved those! And for the 4th of July/cookout we'd gather over one of their houses, a long long time ago. ❤ We had a super large family, and some of our close friends who felt like family always joined us😊 Now "most" of them have gone on to be with the Lord. So I cry and smile inside every time I hear this - remembering! Yall - enjoy your loved-ones now, even those that may be a little challenging. Make the most of their presence. Love on them, laugh, dance and hug them often. We did. A lot! Wish I'd / we'd done it even more. 😢

As I walk halfway down the staircase, look over at my Madea, it was a very cold 1976. I had lost my first child. Only 15yr old, little girl in the projects. My mother and father play this music O'ay on Christmas why my mother cook on Christmas eve she will make macaroni potato salad collard greens fried chicken pig feet with a lot of hot sauce why my father play The O'Jays and have a little drink why the kids are in the bed and on Thanksgiving my aunt you to cook a lot of food and the house in Jamaica Queens 179 everybody died bro my father died when I was 8 years old and that was his song The O'Jays life is too short you're on a scary so we really got a whole lot and pray to God
