    This is so yummy, I'm salivating here😋Yes I grew up eating Vegetable yam made only with amaranth leaf, porridge yam is porridge yam in igbo😂 I prefer my ji agworoagwo with little porridge.

    Good job with your cooking and your page, the Okro is a binder. It holds the yam and the green vegetables together, some people use a little jute leave in that case

    Yummy....One of the easy dishes to cook back in the days growing up at Nsukka. Ji awo (Umunze dialect) for yam porridge. Ask your husband.

    We call it Ji agworo agwo. My used to preppare it with Okro. Back then only I and my mum eat it and it's so delicious 😋 The rest of the family used to say it's weird cooking yam with okro but I laugh because they don't know what they are missing 🤣 This looks so yummy 😋

    My mom that is a correct Anambra woman, adds green, okro and blended ewedu in her ji akworoagwo..... with no single water in the end product..so using okro in this recipe is not a new thing in our house..very sweet something

    In my dialect, yam porridge is "Ipo" (pronounced as E-por) then yam and vegetables is called "ji agworagwo "

    This is my go to meal. I make mine with unripe plantains as well. I just wish I can buy ukpaka where I live. This food looks delicious, yummy and healthy. Thanks you for sharing Flo. I am yet to introduce Okra when cooking mine. I love the math analogy with the Okra. Nicely done ❤️.

    Chaiooo, the okwuru/okro/okra is the glue, I like it a lot. Ji potopoto 😁 funny enough that's what I've always heard it being called 🤣 I've only tried scent leaves in ji mmirioku, I'm so going to gwoola ji with it next time cos I naturally like scent leaves 🍃 Yesoo, when an engineer is also a chef 😉😉👏 That oil part is soon true, chai

    When it comes to yams I like it simple yam and plain palm oil too... for upgrade that has to be porrage yam with plenty green, but never heard of okra in yam oo... the diagram explanation does help but I think it has to be a very little amount.

    Yes, so smooth. Okra helps the leaves gum bodi with the yam. Scent leaf adds a kick to the taste.
