Please Please Please be careful with Nursing schools in FLORIDA...FLORIDA has a NURSING SCHOOL on every corner in every city..95% of them are not approved or accredited...I went to visit WEST PALM BEACH and driving from the airport to my hotel, I counted 13 nursing schools..All on the same strip one or two corners down from each other...No way in hell will one city have that many schools in same area..Furthermore, ain't no telling how many others were in the city..I jus seen that one area...Call your board of nursing for the state you are attending school and see if that school is legit...Don't get scammed

i have two kids who are little a 4 month old and a two year old. i found a school in florida called Medical Prep Institute Of Tampa Bay that is approved by the Florida Board but they are not accredited. I have read mxed reviews about them. They have an online asn program for out of state students. You fly in once a month fri, sat, sun to do clinicals. but now due to covid-19 i was told you do most of your clinicals i think through video simulations and you have to do 233 preceptorship hours can be done locally. and then at the end you go to tampa for a month to do skills check off for clinicals. i was about to enroll and i reached out to 3 past students only 1 recommend it. one of the reasons that they do not recommend is because they said the school gives you a bunch of difficult exit exams(that they make up themselves, its not from hesi) like 9 at the end of the program. if you do not pass the exits you wont graduate. one student said it took him a year to pass all the exits before he was able to go take nclex. right now the school is on probation as of may 2020 cos last year they closed out the year with 69% nclex pass rate. another had to go somewhere else. if yall can advice me and give me your opinions.

Nursing School is the money maker at the school I went to, it was corrupt, racist and inadequately prepared students for Nursing in real life. Married students graduated divorced, sane students graduated on anxiety meds and some never graduated at all they were intentionally blocked. Many passed the NCLEX but the experience of Nursing school left them broken, insecure and degraded.

You are so right. I almost got sucked in by a school that was a scam. I work full time so finding a program that works with my work schedule is tough so wen one of my good friends mother recommended the nursing school she went to I jumped at the opportunity but mama didn’t raise no fool I did my research and wen I went to meet with the advisors they sugar coated everything. Sure enough wen I asked about the program not being accredited I was told ‘oh that’s in the works’ it can take years for a school to be accredited but they want $50,000 dollars. I said no thank and politely took my behind home. You have to do your research and be vigilant bcuz they will prey upon the desperate.

God truly inspired you to make this video & I appreciate the straight facts you are sharing. Im finishing up prereq's to hopefully get into spring admission which is so competitive! In spite of which I have been making sure that I did a lot of research on the schools retention and NCLEX pass rates and for 2 yr schools there are over 90%. I was looking into a 4 yr private to go straight for BSN (which is super expensive) but after this video I think I will be patient and stick w/the 2 local 2 yr schools. Super informative video💙

Professors didn’t want to teach, I failed to look at passing rate which was pitiful, and it’s was a mess of a program which nickel and dimed you. I’m now applying to an established, accredited, BSN program. Beware the scam!!! Thanks Mercy! ☺️💕

One of the main reasons that people settle on for profit school is because of time. Most community colleges only offer daytime programs. Unless you live with your parents or have a husband that can put you through school... Success is almost impossible. I can tell you that community colleges and vocational schools will boot you out for failure quicker than most for profit schools will. The problem is, for profit schools can leave you in big debt; so choose wisely!

Hello Mercy. Do you feel like in your nursing school, the teachers actually HELP the students pass rather than other nursing schools that just like to get rid of people who are struggling especially since Chamberlain is more expensive than the average nursing school? I agree with what you said in the video. Look at the NCLEX pass rates and attrition rates. The attrition rate has to do with how many people leave the program. If a lot of people are leaving, then that means it isn't a good program or something is terribly wrong. Remember that you are paying the school to train you to become an RN.

I have nothing to offer on this topic. Graduated from a great "in-state" college, on "the-five-year" plan. Double major nursing and business. Stayed on-track with only $5000 debt, which I gladly repaid for a great career. I was really grateful to you as the taxpayer for financing my education. Paid it forward with 21 years in the BEST military in the world. No, maybe not "get-rich", but, has provided me with an honorable living. No idea what people do about their NCLEX prep. My school taught to the test.....from DAY ONE. Great NCLEX pass rate! education from state college. Never studied for the test @all. Maybe these people are poor test takers. Maybe these people went to crap school. College degree, but, certainly not working in the field. No idea what these people are up to. Nursing school a scam? Just no. Not my experience. Ok, I did pay money.....WHICH WAS Well-spent. Just disagree with this topic. Where is the personal responsibility? How can you feel ok sending these people out to the community to function as nurses when they cannot pass the program? They cannot pass the NCLEX because they have not learned enough from the program!

I went to an ABSN at Concordia College in NY. And they had wonderful reviews online 🤦‍♀️. When I finally got in, they had revamped the entire program, new dean, new staff.. Smh. #ANightmare And Yes, out of 100 students enrolled only 20 will make it to take the state board and that is how the ended up with a 98% rating... a total set up! And the worst thing is that after spending time and money for 1 semester, now I cant find a nursing program that accept Nursing students with prior clinical rotation experience 😭 Nursing scams such be illegal!!!

i'm in bryant and stratton richmond rn... i warning you now don't come.... we have a 25 year old instructor teaching 3 classes (med surg, pharm, Iv therapy) back to back n that's the only ways it offered despite them claiming they are flexible! Mind you this is her first semester teaching. Of course, more than half the class failed and I'm now being kicked out for this thrown together mess. I'm not upset im still committed to becoming a nurse, but my advice is do your prereqs at community college and apply to their program

Nicole Sergeant Yes keep both active...I tell nurses that have both to keep them because there are some companies that don't have RNs but they hire alot of LPNS..so you can have your RN job and keep a 1 on 1 LPN job if need be..Then if you don't want a 2nd RN job because it require more work than the LPN, you can use that LPN LICENSE to go get a easier side job..

Other than the price for the school are there any other reasons you would say to run? I want to use my 9/11 gi bill earned from my military service wisely...thank you rebecca I've heard alot of great things about the program only con I have heard is basically when you start there you have to finish as far as continuing to your masters and doctoral because there credits will not transfer out.

I graduated from Chamberlain and 90% of us had jobs before graduation and that was at top hospitals and in top specialties. I’m from Texas so it’s probably not respected elsewhere. I’m a firm believer that you get out what you put in. The people who went through the program cheating passed the program but couldn’t pass the NCLEX. I stayed away from the cheaters bc I knew it wouldn’t help in the long run. Yes Chamberlain is over priced but I went there with 2 years of prerequisites so that dropped my tuition to half the price. I can go on and on but I’ll be making a video about my experience with Chamberlain alone.
