Guys. I really appreciate your work. But please, stop making so many types of quality boots, I'm gonna be bankrupt. I have a pair of Vellies for the summer, an African Ranger (crazy horse) for cozy walks, and a pair of Razorbacks treated with two layers of your leather balm and one layer of pure beeswax for the winter. They are all perfect. Hope Numzaans get to Europe, since your boots are very hard to get here. Keep up the great work, you have a lifetime buyer here (probably owning the first pairs of your boots in Hungary)! Thank you!

@@bawla I have always had luck asking my questions via their contact us form. Usually get a response within 24 hours if not sooner. They answer questions submitted through amazon quickly as well. KZread, not so much, lol. Anyway, if you go to their customs tab, it will tell you the designation of each last. 2E with a wide flat toe box, 3E with a tall toe box and D width depending on the last, from what I can see. From personal experience with the width of their shoes I can say that they run true to size on a Brannock based on their designation. And are high volume.

I've come across the info you mention by googling around before but those seem to be about their regular boots and may not apply to the African Ranger Barefoot boot which uses their Zero Drop last. Do you have any info on it?

Right? My first was the African Ranger in black, kind of a test to see if I would like them after wearing regular hiking boots for decades…yeah love them, now I want the other models, have to pace myself, great boots!

When most companies offer a “review” of their own product, I roll my eyes, but JG is different. I appreciate their approach to sharing the product journey of their different boots.

Speed hooks - yes! Beautiful natural veg tan! I would have kept the pull tab on the back - it gets covered up by your jeans anyways. I will definitely consider buying a pair! Video (REQUEST) : a side by side comparison of the Numzaan and Baobab.

I see that this comment is 3 months old, so you may already know by now, but you can order custom boots from Jim green which means you can order a pair with pull tabs. Just in case you didn't know!

Im happy to see a dressier boot to complete my jim green collection as I already own a pair of african rangers and steel toe razorbacks. truly remarkable quality and customer service for the price, keep up the good work guys!

i own the town and country model and it’s amazing, i wouldn’t bother hunting or hiking with them. and its very dressy. still i’m gonna buy this new boot. :)

This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for.

Just got mine yesterday. Walnut with Frog sole. One my feet now. Very impressed with how they look and feel. As others say below they are ruggedly beautiful and built extremely well. Love that they have a wider toe box and my wide feet fit very well. Can't wait to get these broken in. Can't be happier with them. Well done Jim Green!!

Excellent review question did you go a half a size larger?

More brands need to do this, the open and honest communication with their customers. As a huge boot nerd and heritage fashion enthusiast, I greatly appreciate things like this. I personally approve of Jim Green as a boot brand, their construction/materials are all solid. I like what you’ve done with the lacing system on this boot, the gusset and double facings are unique. The one thing I would’ve changed was that shaft extension.. to me it’s really obvious that you’ve added a collar to an existing die. Although the vamp and quarters are one piece.. which is a large cut, and you’d have to make a new die in order to have the quarter/vamp/shaft panel all one piece. I really think you should though, it would GREATLY improve the aesthetics of this design. All eyelets could work well with round laces, less fuss with lace twist. Though removing that triple stitch/shaft extension and leaving all else the same should work too. Thank you for this video, I respect what you guys are doing over at Jim Green. Much love friends 🫡

I custom ordered a pair of boots a few months ago from Jim Green. After all the customizations that I asked for, it's pretty much this boot on a JG last: I absolutely love it. They're breaking in very nicely. Fit was perfect out of the box. Comfort was there from about half-way through day one. I have over 20 pairs of footwear, and they showed up and fit in the top five favorites right away. I reach for them more often than I do much more expensive boots. I really like the direction Jim Green is going and I look forward to closely following along.

I can’t believe you guys just keep coming out with such awesome boots! Personally I would have stuck with the harder rubber sole but I walk a lot and tend to go through sole rubber like it’s going out of fashion. Wearing barefoot shoes has taught me to step lightly, so the hardness underfoot is less of an issue. I know someone who is going to want these as soon as they come out in black :)

Just received my boots. This is my third pair from Jim Green. I think the company makes great boots, especially for the price. These boots are on a whole another level . I am blown away the quality of the leather and the craftsmanship is just amazing. If I was told these boots cost twice as much, I would not be surprised.

@BlueSpirit. I ordered my usual size I typically order a wide from other brands or go up a size , but My other Jim Greens are fairly wide. So I just stuck with my usual size they fit great.

I already have a good pair of dress boots! I am the kind of person that normally only owns 2 pairs of boots, 1 for work and one for dress, but you are making this really hard because now I want these. I recently purchased my first pair of Jim Green’s (Buffalo African Ranger) and I couldn’t be happier with them. My next boot will be these!

I ordered some Walnut Numzan boots yesterday, can’t wait to add them to my Jim Green collection! They look so good and the new Frog Grip sole gives them a more professional appearance. They will fit right in with my Baobab, 2x African Rangers (fudge & brown), Tyre Sole Razorbacks, and my two custom boots that in progress.

Gorgeous. Love that natural colorway, especially given how it'll darken over the coming years. You mentioned prototyping a non-toe cap version, I'd be interested in seeing what that looked like. My Razorbacks still have many years ahead of them, but who knows?

I love this boot. This is essentially the perfect boot that ive been looking for. Wider last options for this boot would be great.

I started looking at the African Ranger for my new work boots, then I found the Baobab and was sold on the upgrades. Now I've found this beautiful boot with even more upgrades. I recently ordered a custom boabab with a leather footbed, toe cap, and black rough out leather, in the barefoot last... last, color, and pull loop aside... you made the same boot! you guys listen to your customers (at least the US one's), you guys are awesome! And you're the only company in the world making a real zero drop, foot shaped boot, with your barefoot last!

Just got a pair of your Razorback Wedges on the black friday thing here in NA. Still need to break them in just right. First pair of Jim Green. I am impressed although I live in Alaska, I still believe in a leather lined hardcore everyday boot for summer and what not. These new Numzaan models seem pretty cool as well. More ankle support if one needs. Keep up the great work and hope you can still sell your stuff over here profitably.

I bought a pair of these in the Natural color with the Frog Grip sole. I wear them daily as a work boot. I manage and operate a small lumberyard. These are definitely the most durable boot i have ever owned. Break in time is significantly longer than most other brands, but if you tough it out and wear them daily for a couple weeks, then they are so comfortable. I have been wearing them daily for 6 weeks now, both in the warehouse and outside on the yard. The can take beating with ease. I keep a horse hair brush in my backpack, so if i go out to eat, I can clean them up real quick.

I just received my Numzaan boots in the mail today. I have been wearing them for about two hours. I am VERY impressed. I own a few different brands of boots and I have to say I think the value of the Numzaan is amazing! Great product and great company. I will be buying more boots from Jim Green. I have two now. The African Ranger and now the Numzaan in natural with the frog grip sole.

You guys keep doing amazing stuff. I recently got some custom boots and i absolutely love them. I love that you guys went with a dressier boot to round out your offerings. One thing I'd like to see from you guys is reworking your barefoot last. The wide toe box of the last is great but the heel and waist of the last needs to be slimmed down some. My foot and heel kind of floats around the boot regardless of how it's tied and tends to give blisters. Check Lems shoes from Colorado or Altra's lineup of barefoot running shoes for an idea of a good overall profile on the last. Their shoes grip the heel and ankle well but allow the toes to spread out.

Agree! The one thing I would change about the AR barefoot is to make it more snug/narrow in the heel and mid foot.
