Once in a lifetime, or in this case once in 21 years does something so magical happen that it will knock your socks off! :)
On Friday May 10th, 2024 I happened to be in Denver Colorado when I heard about the gigantic Northern Lights about to happen that night. I had committments helping some of the grandkids with their gymnastics and dance competitions. I was finally able to leave about 8pm. I had been talking with a friend and we had decided to go up to Glendo State Park in Wyoming. It was an almost 4 hour drive for me, so I got there just before midnight. It was so worth driving that far, as we could see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky in 360 degrees all around us!
I set up 3 cameras on this night with my Nikon D850 pointing straight up into the sky. There was like a point in the upper sky that the Aurora was dancing around. I have captured the Aurora about 5 or 6 times now, but I have never been able to capture it dancing overhead. So this timelapse is the set of images I worked on first.
I do hope you enjoy this, I know I had a blast watching it as the Northern Lights went Nuclear!
