The Notorious B.I.G. channel is the official KZread home of The Notorious B.I.G. featuring his catalog of official music videos. The Notorious B.I.G. is widely recognized as one of the world’s most influential rappers and has sold more than 17 million albums in the U.S. alone. Before his murder in 1997, Christopher Wallace recorded two classic albums as The Notorious B.I.G. His debut Ready to Die arrived in 1994 and helped revitalize the East Coast rap scene with massive hits like “Big Poppa” and “Juicy.” Life After Death was released in March 1997 just weeks after he was shot and killed in Los Angeles. The record topped the U.S. album charts and featured the hits “Hypnotize” and “Mo Money Mo Problems.” It remains one of the few hip-hop albums to ever achieve Diamond certification from the RIAA.

@@neverhungryagain2187 Man, you skipped over the whole Golden Age... The Whodini style rappers was the late '70s to early '80s.. By the mid to late '80s, you had the Golden Age cats like LL, Rakim, KRS, Kane, G Rap, Slick Rick, etc, who took lyricism and the artform to new levels with sampling and conversational flows. Then in the early '90s, you had the gangsta rappers, pro-black rappers, and the high octane gruff voiced rappers like Onyx, Das Efx, Busta Rhymes, Native Tongues, etc. Biggie came out of that era. Then by the mid '90s, hip hop changed again with lyricism being stepped up even more and the underground emerging as a viable force.

This is the best story telling rap song ever IMO. There are other good ones but this one is so dramatic and so vivid that you forget how good the word play and wittiness from big is. He knew how to make hit records, he knew how to make street shit, songs for the ladies, incredible stories. He was also only getting better. Idc what anyone says, life after death was even better than ready to die. I only wish we could have seen how good this dude would have become if it wasn’t for that night on March 9th 1997. RIP B.I.G. 🐐 👑🎤
