My husband recently passed away. The Notebook was a favorite of ours. Our love story paralleled much of the storyboard. We dated with intensity, separated, came back together with even more intensity, married, started a family, built a beautiful home, and danced to the end of love-overtime 47 yrs. He died in my arms during a sudden death experience. I found the mixes from the Notebook on his saved youtube account after he died. It felt like he was reaching out through time to comfort me. I am painfully grieving his absence, but who knew youtube mixes could bring such peace and comfort. Life is messy, but it can be a pleasure trip. Our journeys are personal but we can share in our experiences through music and films

Barbara I felt ever word I just read in your comment. My story is very similar My wife and I also had break ups early on but married had kids . She was stolen from us in 09 . she had sent me three videos in her last days I found them about a month after she died. It crushed me . 10years I walked hopelessly in darkness. Then without realizing it I fell in love with another beautiful lady and for a moment I was happy. She made me watch The Notebook and to my surprise I liked it. Last September she was stolen by Covid I didn't even get to see or talk to her before she was sedated She was gone 3 days later. This video is bitter sweet and makes me think of both . I smile with tears

Why can’t I move on from you? Why are you always there in the forefront of my mind always . . My heart breaks over and over again life is just so unfair I know that we are perfect for each other . Every time I try to say goodbye I stop myself I would rather be heart broken and still talk to you as a friend than not have you in my life so if it’s as friends then I would rather have that than lose you . This song is everything to me. I said goodbye to my soulmate on 7/31/2017. The most important person to ever walk into my life. Within 2 months, we were engaged. We went through hell and came back multiple times. He was my very best friend. But not all soulmates are forever. It was unhealthy to be so utterly obsessed. We finally put the papers in for divorce. Up until now, this song was just pain. Now it makes me happy. I would never change any of it. I grew so much. As did he. It sucks, but we're both better people having had it all happen. And I'm happy that he came into my life. And I'm happy I learned to let what I love be free. Im sure that will prove invaluable with my kids. And my current relationship. Always remember- you can't force anyone or anything to be who/ what you want/ need. And not everything is permanent. Love what you have, truly appreciate what you had. Smile more, live in turmoil and anxiety less.

I lost my wife 2 weeks ago from covid-19. The feeling of having to watch the love of your life slowly choke to death, alone in icu and not being able to do anything about it...is indescribably horrific and it tore a hole in me. She tried to call me while I was at work, before they sedated her because knew she wasn't coming back. I missed her calls due to the poor reception where I work. She left her sister a message to give me saying "tell trinity that I love him.". I loved her more than I ever thought I could love someone. And although my heart still beats... I died with her in icu that day. I would do anything to be able to go back in time long enough to make sure that I was somewhere with better reception when you called. If I could only go back in time long enough to give you one last painful kiss.

But there are others and maybe we loved them like this but they were bad for us---think violent alcoholic---but they weren't always in that mode. Sometimes they were adorable. But in the end, we usually say goodbye to those people who have really damaged our lives. We are not yet evolved enough for continued contact after someone causes us the trauma of any kind. There are schizophrenic children and parents who don't recognize you and it's heartbreaking and you say goodbye to them and it hurts. Somtimes it is best you never meet again. The hurt we do to each other.

After getting close to someone I've known for over 60 years and getting close with them just to have them pass away on 9/18 2022 now I listen to this and cry.

So sorry for you. I think it must be harder when you made the decision to end something that could've been beautiful. I had this beautiful kind of love, for just over 400 days. Life's circumstances and prior obligations prevented us from going forward as one, for which I am so heartbroken. I'll never get over him and I'll always hold onto the hope that we will be able to hold each other tight again, someday, somehow, some way and that he'll "touch me one more time."

This is so beautiful it brings back memory's, heart aches happiness, sadness every thing. My heart is still broken and this describes everything I love it so much ♥ :)

john loureiro not to give false hope...and I have empathy...but sometimes people aren’t used to being loved so much or because they love you so deeply...they have to run. Yes, we have to let go of the outcome and respect their boundaries but if they are your soulmate they will come back....but we have to let go of control and let it happen without expectation. It’s hard. It’s more complicated that they just don’t love you back. If it’s meant to be it will and there’s nothing to be afraid.

Then, now & always my beautiful Grizz! I pray you are happy and that I will see you at least once more before the end. And I never stop wishing that we would have taken that ride or wondering what might have been different if we had...but it is what it is and I would never have chosen this, but you have, so I must try to be ok some how and not give into the loneliness and ideas of just letting my time left go. I still have things that I must try to do before I say goodbye to the ones who love me and haven't left me alone when I need love and companionship more than ever before. But until my last breath, I will still be waiting for you, if you ever decide that all the things you said really were true because I know mine have and will always be the greatest truth of me. Tears offer minimal to no comfort these days. Although many moments have placed my tolerant/curious heart w/in the center of it all. Surrounded by others seems to breed comfort, beware this false sense of reality. For we've searched, longed & understood this BUSY ENERGY (once to find us) will keep our souls safe from the dark corners beckoning every day...ive found both gratitude & complacency here. The greatest dance between divine company & vulnerable lonliness plagues us all...i succumb to this truth; MORE ALONE IN A CROUD THAN WHENST SOLACE IS FOUND IN SOLITARY APPRECIATION. I played this song to my ex the night we decided split. Heartbreaking and my heart is still breaking to this day. We went through a lot to be with one another and because of some of the things the happened I couldn't forgive myself and I pushed her away. I loved her more than anything in the world but I could never really truly show her. I still think about her and the way I ruined our love pretty much every day. I've never wanted to love anyone again. She was and still is the most beautiful girl I've ever laid eyes on. I'm so so sorry natalie for everything and I know it's ridiculous but I honestly will always love you. You deserve someone who can show you how much they love and care about you.

I met a girl when I was just a boy! We came into each others lives like a nuclear bomb went off and it was the deepest love that I believe either of us ever felt! When it ended I believe that both of us almost didn't make it thru. I thought about her all the time for 30 years and one day had a dream about her crying. In the dream I asked her to go with me but she said she couldnt! Two days after the dream I found a bridge where she had written TH loves TB Forever in May of 1987! I couldn't understand why I had the dream and found the writing under the bridge after 30 years! I went to her and asked her to marry me in 2017. She said yes! Shortly after that she divorced me. It was the original dream where she said she couldn't go with me! I will never understand it but it is absolutely true and it happened! All the angels in heaven weeped the day it was over! Its still over!

Reading some of these great comments, makes me joyful and sad for those who went the distance "until death do us part"! Very beautiful! My parents will be married for 60 yrs come next March! I have been divorced twice, my last was in 2019! 1st marriage I really screwed up,and hurt my wife very badly! We are still friends and speak from time to time, and we have three beautiful children, and soon 4 grand kids! Awesome! Something wonderful came from our marriage! 2nd, well great person, but I was much older, and we just really didn't click! I had a work partner at a printing company, that for approximately 5 months we worked together daily. She is the one who brought up this movie the "Notebook"! There was some chemistry between us, but I couldn't go there! I had never seen that movie! Somewhere waiting on the required time frame for my 1st divorce to take place I probably watched it! Now most of that waiting time was simple hell for me! I do not remember how I responded the first time I saw that movie. Probably a little of agonizing pain, sorrow and anger, mostly at myself! I've moved on......yes I have. But now, when I hear Journey and Steve belting out "Faithfully", or "Open Arms" or Warrant singing "Heaven" or Bryan Adams "Everything I do, I do it for you" well I can't find......"her"!? There is another story underlining all of this, I dated one beautiful young lady for 3 years in high school and off and on for 2 in college. I was ready to commit to marriage, but she wanted to date around, led to us breaking up, me for the 1st time with her. I have realized now, ( 40 years later) that she did come back for the 1st semester, and then right before Christmas she told me she was going to another university! I realize now, she was trying to get me to tell her that I love her and didn't want her to go! But I didn't! Makes me question? She's been divorced twice as well and has married for the third time, and she seems happy, which I'm thankful that she has found happiness. But the hopeless romantic in me just makes me wonder at times! But the Lord knows my heart, and what I have to offer as well! But I do love these videos and the movie! Who knows!

I gave my young love to my first love. I was 17 he was 18. It grew from more than just puppy love. It grew into love a love that was so real. I am grateful to know love because of him. Fast forward to being 22 our love was enough for us to promise forever. I was in it for the long haul whatever it took. After 2 year's of dating, 3 years of being engaged and 9 years of being married to my first love. He grew apart from us.He left me for someone else. Someone who I thought was someone I could trust. My ex sister in law was the person; right after my brother's passing. Deep down I know now it could have been a thing during my brother's time here on earth. I was left to be a single mother of two; a 4 year old and a 5 year old. Holding a full time job with him not really being in the picture for help. That was 13 years ago. It was a long broken road for me. But from that time to now I learned who I am and I gave myself time for me and time to love again. Although at that time, I couldn't move on with so much grief in my heart and so much doubt in my mind. It wouldn't have been fair for the next person I knew I would give a chance to, but just not at that moment. I was broken. I gave my mind time to be on the same page as my heart. Now, I have another little girl with the person I know I was meant to be with. He is a new world for me. He gives me everything my heart could ever want. He loves me for who I am. He was someone I knew in my waaay past. Let's just say middle school days. I knew of him but He didn't really know me. We really never crossed paths then. We went to same high school and never had a chance to cross paths then either. It just wasn't meant for us to know each other then. We were to busy being teenagers and having others in our lives, until now. Fast forward, We finally cross paths 5 years ago. Remembering each other 30 years ago this year, we are now madly in love and being parents to our beautiful little girl. And we'll be exchanging vows this November. I've learned through this journey that sometimes things didn't always go my way because there were better plans in the making for me. Now I am able to say "Thank you" to my ex-husaband for leaving because now I can have what I was always searching for and wanting😌 something that I now know he could never have given me. You are no longer apart of me. I'm now a better me and in a happier life. So this is Goodbye and I wish you the best.
