You can get extra chances because it's so quiet. Most of my cross-bow kills are in the final 15ish. It gets better closer to the end

Crossbows can either be your bffs or a pain in your ass, when you get how to use ‘em you start loving them, believe me, killing someone with an bolt headshot without making any noise is one of the biggest pleasures you can have in the game.

Crossbow is deadly, you just aren't allowed to miss your shot. It's one of my fav early game weapons. And yeah Fugglet is a must watch too. There are a few vids of he and Aculite playing together
