It is really funny how sometimes when I'm meditating I start to think about something that seems really deep and philosophical... ...and then I realize that the ego has diverted my attention completely by giving me self-satisfaction over how wise I supposedly am.

@Raoh The GOAT I'm not a realized Master, Raoh, but I think you missed the gist of what we talking about here: spirituality, not raunch, is the topic, method, and goal. But what do I know? Maybe you're on to something, so grab ahold of it and run with it. (Maybe that's not great advice either, if taken literally anyway.) It seems you're using a blunt instrument to find yourself. (Wait, that sentence is a mess, too. I'll stop talking now.)

It's like the magical Lotus flowers at the Lake of Consciousness - every day their quantity doubles. Starting with two, the next day four, then eight and so on. How long will it take for the lake to be full of Lotus flowers? If everyone brings a friend who seeks the truth in their heart to join this non-dual caravan of love and beauty… How long will it be before millions of people feel and experience the fullness of Rupert's wisdom and love that he so selflessly shares with us all?

We ABSOLUTELY need to start making clear in the non dual communities that awakening will release your traumas from repression in the subconscious and simply sitting as awareness DOES NOT dissolve all of them. There is no spiritual bypass, you can’t meditate your way through all of this. Some trauma and ego stories require very skillful inquiry to mine out the words and pictures trapped with energy/trauma in the body. Check out Scott Kilobys Inquiries is you want some guidance working through these. Truth and Love

When I explored the feelings below the rational mind, it began as a beautiful and mystical experience… with occasional clouds of loneliness. I welcomed the emotions closer and asked them to stay for a while, and my goodness… a storm of the most intense, irrational, dark emotions I have EVER experienced filled my waking mind. It went on for hours. I had no idea how to process it. It was as if I experienced generations and eons of intense emotions. Not sure how to rationally process it. I see why people avoid this step… it takes courage to face something so chaotic and outside one’s control. Thank you for posting this video. It’s helping me trust that this is all part of the process, otherwise I might think I lost my mind and never try again.

I really relate to this and hope you're doing well with it. My spiritual journey started with severe anxiety and panic disorder and as I found my spiritual path it began to subside with intense breath work and focus. Now almost 2 years later, I'm experiencing strong emotions of panic, anxiety, fear, and many that feel like I'm going absolutely insane. Every day is a different day but some days are so incredibly hard I don't know how I keep going. Anyway, I seem to be working thru them slowly. Hope you are as well

Ferris Bueller was a nerd You ought to read Luke 17:21. He is teaching what Jesus taught. It was Paul that taught “worship Jesus as god.” Jesus absolutely rejected this and ABSOLUTELY said we are the exact same as Jesus, which is god (read your Bible, it’s in there multiple times John 10:34 and Psalms 82:6...read it, have your mind blown). “The Kingdom of God” is what non dual people call awakening, awareness or enlightenment. You know when they say “have the same mind as Christ” or “be still and know I Am god,”...he is showing you how to do it. Love

In the Qabalah of Questianity we call the honeymoon phase "ascents," which complement the "descents" that challenge us to put in the real spiritual work that fosters growth. The whole of spirituality is just this: ascents and descents, ascents and descents, spiraling upward, forward, onward in a movement of everlasting epektasis ... to infinity and beyond!

Thank you for this, it's so helpful. The last couple of months I've been participating in some (Buddhist) prayers as a daily Covid-19 abatement session with others on zoom. But I noticed about a week into it that there were 2 of the recitations in particular that were opening up all these childhood memories of sadness and hurtfulness I barely knew I had. I felt like I was the child again reliving the experiences as they happened at that time, before I'd learned to hide my feelings from heart breaking & frightening things. It was a pattern, and it happened each day. I became so uncomfortable with it I started skipping those two "prayers" when they came up (turning my sound off on my computer and then back on when they were over) to see if that would help. And it did, kind of, the memories simply slipped quietly into the background. But now that I had met them, I knew they were right under the surface, so after a few more days I began to think I should get brave and turn both of those prayers back on again so I could let the memories out and work with the issues, and then I "accidentally" discovered this talk! Wow! It's given me the courage to just let it happen, to accept it and not feel that I'm doing something wrong. And it's helping me realize it's not too big to handle and that things will be ok. That it's "supposed" to happen like this. It would be nice to know what the meditation was that you made mentioned of, but I'll explore the homeopathic yoga meditations you also mentioned, as well as continuing with the ones I currently have. Thank you from my heart.

"there's nobody here" really worked good when the one that used to be "here" was stinky and ugly. Who is it that claims there's nobody here? Usually, somebody....and a false "somebody" at that. Nobody itself isn't going to say "there's nobody here". Who would it say it to and why? And, who would even hear it? What could the "somebody" that heard it possibly do with it! There is somebody here. And it's going to take a lot more than a few words or phrases to know the truth about it. Whatever it is, it's in for a fight and it's not going to give up easy. It's almost as if we found out the truth half way through the middle of a major battle. It's time to be in if for the long haul. Quick and easy answers are nowhere to be found. Patience, silence and diligence are a must.

  • @j00f

    @j00f

    8 жыл бұрын

+matthewervvin That's what I also used to think; that it is going to be a long fight. Turned out it's both true and not true. The truth is simple and only needs a realization; There is no one, just another human being, born out of mother and father, having specific biology, thoughts and behavior based on the specific circumstances and environment it grew in. All automatic, result of cause and effect. There is no one inside this body. But getting rid of all the old baggage (past conditioning) which is in the way of actually feeling free, is a task of a lifetime. But once the illusion of self is realized, that process of unconditioning in turn becomes automatic. That's why in Buddhism it's called "stream-entry".

You say- "There is somebody here." try this: "who notices that? /i do/ who am i [who is this i]?" and keep silent and see how that i dissolves into its source [impersonal amness]. if you need some 'food for thought' to make the mind cooperate, before starting the self inquiry remind yourself that you are not the body because you can see the body and everything that can be perceived is not you- you are the perceiving in an impersonal form, the witness of all; in addition, all that comes and goes is not real as you cannot build on transitory stuff, on unstable ground. The only thing you can be certain of is 'i am'; then go to 'who am i' questioning

The metaphor of the well is beautiful. It's been months since I've stopped feeding my Ego's stories and rationalizations and defense mechanisms... And yet the feelings still keep coming. It's been terribly uncomfortable to sit with. I've had periods of deep peace and happiness but they're short lived and then I just end up going back to the discomfort. There's been several times where I thought I had finally emptied the well and yet the creatures still keep pouring to the surface.

As the elements at the bottom of the analogized well begin to stir and then revolt to the sun's presence (Awareness/Presence/Self) the intensity of those elements (our false identities) increases. A threshold then approaches where we either choose deidentification from those elements and remain as the Sun/Awareness itself and shift into the lucid view with freedom and choice over the direction of our attention/intention, or we are triggered into entanglement and slavery to those false identities in the analogized well.

If you think in ways of "attraction" you'll see that the disciple and the teacher resonate at least in SOMEWAY - otherwise the disciple/person would have been drawn to a different teacher/technique... life plays in terms of resonance and dissonance - stuff that feels disgusting to us will simply not attract us or rather will repel us (unless you belong to those of us (like me) who were told that things that are hard will build your character and that it's noble to suffer)...

In answer to Zak Zavada's similar question, someone has posted directions for purchasing the video. I was able ti follow the directions and get the right video.

I'm trying to find more books, works, videos, audios about this stage. I don't find almost any teacher speak about the sadhana to keep doing after the glimpse of who we are really are. If someone have some suggestions, thank to much!

Hi Gopala. Off the top of my head some teachers who talk about embodiment and life after awakening are Adyashanti, Miranda Macpherson, Ram Dass and Bonnie Greenwell. Hope that helps.

Hi Gopala, Rupert has many audio mp3 meditations entitled “Yoga Meditation” that he specifically tailored to address this part of the process (i.e., what he calls “the outward facing path”). You can purchase these on his website.

It is about time to end the new age honeymoon, ins't it? The misuse of the word spiritual and the exploitation of people's naiveté and wholehearted trust is dirtier job than cleaning up garbage bins, by far. I have been waiting for this time to come... 🕉 om
