Hi there, let me know which one of these methods you're gonna use next when you end up with noisy footage, or if you know about a different denoising tool that you think is more powerful, don’t hesitate to drop it in the comments below 😉 PS: KZread's compression has caused some artifacts on the noisy clips so I hope the comparison is still clear enough.

they updated video AI and it no longer has some other features he mentions in this video so if you're considering buying it for the output feature that has denoise/deblock save your money, I'm kind of annoyed since I been fighting this video quality issue for 2 days now and even when Im willing to pay i still can't find a solution that works and gives me high quality footage

It still has the Artemis Denoise Algorithm but they changed the layout to be simpler. So it's no longer called "denoise & deblock" but it can still definitely denoise, perhaps even better now. -.-

Good comparison, and that was my conclusion as well. However as a side note. I had a video clip that I couldn't recover, shot with log footage in really dark enviroment, badly exposed. In the end after trying all these methods, I had most lucky with another tool. Noise reduction tools found in DaVinci Resolve Studio version. Just their native noise reduction. When I used all the settings at best setting I was really pleased with the results, that in that particular clip looked better than both Neat Video and Topaz, which was a surprise to me. Hope someone can use that tool as well, because its really good. Cheers!

Davinci Resolve is a dedicated video editor programmed around LOG, RAW/BRAW and ProRes so this makes perfect sense. Applications like this are likely optimized for video thats been already compressed in camera with embedded corrections or finalized and exported in a video editor. Basically, DR is getting more data thats fresh to work with, in LOG so it requires LUTs and/or desired Color Input and Output. These plugins would need to be told your desired input and output to do the math correct. Also, DR is node based so it more advanced and precise. Adobes PP is mainly a traditional based layer system due to many of it loyal customers still using older hardware architectures, thus its a meesy resource hog.

I already have neat video and I have a spending problem. I'm also getting into chainner and ERSGAN AI Models which are free and produce amazing results with animations I've tried. do you think I should try VEAI for noisy small faces... worth the money as an semi-pro editor but virtually only working on own material and own band?...

Hi Steve, if you plan to use it often for atleast a year then go and get it, it's definitely worth it and they have Sales now, if your plan is to use it once ot twice then I'd say u should consider other options since you'll be wasting a whole subscription

I'm wondering if you have a process to sharpen your footage after you apply Neat video? The program of neat video is not only fast, it's amazing in what it can do. But the downside is it does really soften the edges in the video and can make the footage look slightly out of focus. So if you have a best practice for how to sharpen after neat video I'd love any advice! Thanks very much!

@@MDMZ Yeah I considered that. But do you have a decent topaz a.i. / premiere pro workflow? If I understand topaz a.i. correctly, there is no way to identify a clip within PP, push it onto Topaz, make adjustments, and bring it back into PP to continue working. Am I wrong? I'm certainly no expert on this and haven't tried extensively to test it out.

I use NEAT Noise for years, and that software is really impressive, but REALLY TASKING low-mid system, I use for 2 minute video and it will take hours to renders, and it will much more longer if you do it on composition. But, the result really impressive. My trick is to do cleanup the footage first rather do it on composed timeline, and export it on much more higher bitrate, so it will reduce video artifact. I also try Topaz Video Enhance AI, and love the result. unfortunately prefer NVIDIA rather AMD GPU, but I want try their Video AI 4, which said improve the performance on AMD GPU. But NEAT Noise is really good tools to help very noise video to at least very presentable condition to client. Their NEAT Image also good tool to remove noises from photo, and I use it allot for interior/architectural works.
