Live aus dem Alabama (später Live aus dem Nachtwerk und Live aus dem Schlachthof) war der Titel des renommierten, wöchentlichen Jugendmagazins des Bayerischen Rundfunks (BR). Namensgeber der Sendung war die Alabama-Halle in München, aus der live gesendet wurde.
Nits (bis 1988: The Nits, der Artikel wurde offiziell abgelegt) sind eine Popband aus Amsterdam.
Die Nits begannen 1974 als Gitarren-Pop-Band, wandten sich bald dem New Wave zu und kultivieren seitdem einen exzentrischen Stil, der Einflüsse von Minimal Music, Jazz und Independent Pop aufnimmt.

Ich lebe tatsächlich in den Dutch Mountains. Traditionell nennt man die Gegend hier so. Andere nennen diesen Landesteil auch "preussisch Sibirien". Gelb ist hier eine häufig zu sehende Farbe. Wenngleich die Meisten Menschen aus dem gelben Niederungen nicht so wunderbar und wunderlich wie die Nits sind. Würde micht nicht wundern, wenn Henk Hofstede hier einen alten Bauernhof besitzen würde.

What to say... after all these years?!? Personally, I'm a big fan of new songs nowadays... because I think its important to keep up, no, better say it's simply good to listen to them. But every now and then, I remember the past - and then The Nits come to my mind (along with some other wonderful bands from the 80ties, for example Danny Wilson)... and it just blows my mind!!!! Thanks for the journey back... I often wished I never would have to leave it...
Even Focus and the other very fine Netherland's Rock- and Artrockbands like Golden Earring etc: The Nits, my very, very favourites! Each & every song a movie.

This is one of the TV shows I did as part of the Redaktion of BR TV in the 80ties. I guess I did about 300 of this live, venue, Monday TV shows at the old Alabama Kaserne where too in the 60ties I was stationed as a U.S. Army soldier..
