Well, building a city that’s both right in the path of hurricanes on a regular basis AND below sea level probably didn’t help. Bush and global warming didn’t cause Katrina, New Orleans’ founders did. XD

@@TBustah well at the time waterways controlled everything so building New Orleans at the base of the Mississippi River made complete sense and made it the population center it is today but times have changed and we have modern supply chains so New Orleans is a outdated city it’s doomed plus the Mississippi is starting to shift and flow in a different path away from the city without the mineral deposits from the river the city will sink Into the ocean without the rising sea level factored in Louisiana is trying to keep the river diverted so it flows through New Orleans but it’s costly and will ultimately fail Prevention measures to reduce flooding are expensive the only real solution is to raise the entire city above sea level but at this point it’ll be better to abandon it entirely

What I want to know is, why can’t they just do a bit of land reclamation to make a buffer? There isn’t much you can do about the hurricanes, but couldn’t they build an artificial barrier island or two?The high water table DOES complicate things, but you wouldn’t need the reclaimed land to be stable enough for people to live on or anything. If that hyperloop thing or something like it ever materializes, that displaced rock and dirt will have to go somewhere. That’s supposedly how Ellis and Liberty Island got extended: New York claims that they dumped it there when they were digging the subway.

Count Dankula’s are alright. Most of his are pretty on the nose, but sometimes he’ll throw in a joke about one of the characters.

When Cupid mentioned the Mardi Gras tree, I nearly died from laughing. After all, I am from New Orleans so this was a treat for me. Not just that, referenced in a Nightmare Before Christmas animation? Couldn't get any better. I approve of this animation.

I mean my dad was a pastor and so was my grandpa. And my grandpa talks as much about guns and gun safety as he does god. Maybe god a little more so but he’s always packing.

I’m pretty sure they do the raid ads because they’re hilarious and almost as funny as their actual videos.

I’m surprised they don’t get sued Blatant use of copyrighted work from various forms of media like nightmare before Christmas and Warhammer 40k I think the only think keeping games workshop at bay is if they sue furries become cannon to warhammer 40k
