The Night Matrix Showboater Was Humbled

Ойын-сауық

BLTV Highlights the big title fight between the undefeated 'Pretty Boy' Josh Kelly & the rugged brawler David Avanesyan. Kelly had a lot of hype leading up to this contest, but Avanesyan wasn't fazed by the occasion

Josh Kelly is a class geezer. I used to train where he currently trains. Ended up bumping into him (not too long after he booked the Avanesyan fight) and must of spoke to him anywhere between 30-60 minutes. He was just giving advice and spoke about life etc. thought to myself what a tip top bloke. wasn't until the next few times i went in to train he remembered my name said hello. Considering how busy he was and how much he was in the spotlight just showed to me how humble and down to earth he is. Proper geezer and i wish him all the best in his career.

Glad you covered this fight! I’m a big Kelly fan, and he’s come back stronger since this fight. Kelly said he struggled a lot with his mental health around the time of the Ava fight, and now you can see his cardio is a lot more improved and he’s more calculated in his flashiness. I got high hopes for him even if his power isn’t ever gonna be on a Wilder level.

"The night the matrix showboater was humbled" See, this is the problem with modern day boxing and how the public view it. Here's a kid in only his 12th pro fight taking a massive step up in class vs a 30 fight european title holder dead in his prime. Kid still takes early rounds off the champ, totally outboxes him in patches and even hurts him bad but eventually, the champ shows his experience at this level, walks him down and kelly comes up short. Kelly gets called an overrated hype job for losing meanwhile Avanesyan doesn't get the credit he deserves for the win. Avanesyan then goes on to come up short against arguably the best pound for pound fighter on the planet in Terrance Crawford so now, in the eyes of the casual fight fan, both of these men are just a pair of bums who couldn't cut it 🤦‍♂️ and people wonder why it takes mega money to get fights made these days.

If he funnelled all that arrogance into his boxing ability then he would be a far better fighter.

Showboating against people with such poor records is cringe. Its good he faced avenyesan and got a nice piece of humble pie

No. The playing field is not level. He was unlucky and got a cut early in the round? My perspective, though.
