Take what's good and discard the rest. You have to possess the good traits that stand out the most from being a nice guy, and the dominant bad-boy. The nice guy is charming, meek, laid back, professional (or at least uses his vocab), more in touch w/ his softer side. The traits of bad-boys have are being indifferent, cocky, nonchalant, and able turn them out sexually in a myriad of ways in the bedroom (shadow world). You don't have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to getting women. Just simply and always put the best version of yourself out into society, and take what comes back. The feedback you get from others should cue you on whether or not you're that ni66a. Never get complacent like you "made it" always be in needs to improve mode.

I could be way off this, but I consider a nice guy as someone for whom monogamy increases their sexual options, and a bad boy is someone for whom monogamy decreases their sexual options.

You know the saying. A guy is only as faithful as his options.

Lets say nice guy is at the extreme left of the scale and player is the extreme right of the scale. You want to focus on being the good guy right in the middle of the scale.
