Disagree. Let's keep the focus on the best league on the planet and leave the culture war behind. I haven't seen any AHL, ECHL, CHL, KHL etc coverage on this channel so why this? It's not based on their talent level. The Canadian Women's National team plays tune up games against AAA midget boys, and frequently lose...

If they don’t have a viable career path beyond that, why on earth would you ever dedicate every waking moment to your craft the way elite mens athletes do. If they have a career path beyond college, and little girls see that they also have the opportunity to play professionally they will get better. This should be plain to see, but then again you typed out culture war with a straight face so I guess we know everything we need to about you and your critical thinking skills.

As others have pointed out, I think this season goes to show that the modern “goon” is a tough power forward who is capable of scoring and standing up for teammates, “the code” is very much so alive and well and you can see that instead of a specific goon being the one to stand in, the players as a unit enforce the game, which I believe is a perfect middle ground of goonery and managing physicality

No one on the ice wants to be the trigger man. They’d rather attempt perfect passes through the defense’s legs than put pucks on net. And when they do put pucks on net, there’s no one in front of the goalie to clean up rebounds. That’s just my take anyway. I’d love to hear what HP says, too.

Both these guys have it nailed imo. Introducing ek65 has changed the dynamic so no one knows their job anymore except sid because of course he owns the area next to and below the goal line. That leaves mistake prone guys like geno, Letang, ek65 to make d to d passes and they flub (anecdotally) half of them. The other half gets blocked or defended bc it's so predictable. And finally their confidence is shaken and they're older so they're trying way too hard and it shows. Really frustrating being their fan right now

Yours is the only channel that I've found to help explain SYSTEMS. I would love it if you did a video breaking down the differences between the Leafs' previous two years' system and what they've changed this year. Obviously it's north-south vs east-west.. One of the most positive things about the Oilers current form is that they're managing to pull off wins in close, low score games. Usually you'd be concerned because they would rely on their firepower to overwhelm and cover up the defensive lapses you pretty much knew were going to come.

On a 16 win streak any team would be pulling off wins in close low score games because hockey in general is a low scoring game so it’s inevitable that they were going to win low scoring games while on a streak. I think you’re just talking just to talk. Looking at their GAA would make more sense with what you’re trying to say. It’s went down Astronomically if you look at their first 20 games then their last 20 games

Then Reavo tried to fight Ehlers and doesn't then runs around the ice with his stick dropped finding someone to fight while McCabe is on top of someone. This is what the leafs missed in past years, someone would jab at Anderson and Jake Gardener would stand there and watch

im open to expansions but this just means thats other divisors either need a team to balance it out or do away with divisions in general and tweak how many games are played.

I'm with Buccigross and his comments about expansion (specifically, why it WILL happen again and why that's a GREAT thing for the NHL) on Spittin' Chiclets a few weeks back. If you haven't watched it yet, you should.

32 teams somewhat seems like the upper limit for north american sports right now. The NFL has had 32 for decades now, MLB only has 30 despite existing for a century and a half, and the NBA also has 30 despite it's popularity. idk if bettman just wants to brag about how he has 'the most teams in an American/Canadian professional sports league' (which may or may not be correct) or if he genuinely thinks expanding to as many cities as possible is growing the game. Ultimately we just have to sit back and watch how things turn out.

It was originally “champing” but “chomping” has been colloquially accepted for the last hundred years or so. If you’re going to be a smartass, at least be correct.
