The NHL's Longest Goalie Streak - The Glenn Hall Story
Спорт
On January 28th 1959, Canadian goaltender Glenn Hall set a new NHL record for the most consecutive games played by a goaltender having suited up in every single game for his team over the last 3 and a half seasons. Though he would surpass the previous record which was set almost 2 decades prior, the Hall-Of-Fame netminder would end up keeping his record going for another 3 years after that...
This is the story of Glenn Hall, and the NHL's longest goalie streak!

Mr. Goalie, the best ever! My boyhood idol! And a real gentleman!
My favorite goalie of the 60's
I think the real reason Glenn Hall was traded from Detroit was because of his support of the players association started by Ted Lindsay. To make up for Hall's absence, Jack Adams sent young forward John Bucyk to Boston to bring back Terry Sawchuk.

Gordie Howe could have , should have supported Lindsay, Jack Adams would have been sent packing.
Underrated goat.
Great action photos, especially when in color. The 1950s and 60s seemed to be the apex for sports photography.
Great video you missed one small thing you could of put in the video. The fact he has his number retired by the Blackhawks
Thanks for taking the request!
best channel on the youtubes, Hall was a beast, well thats what I heard!
I haven't been this early to an OMR video ever. Neat
I don't know why but I enjoyed this video the most since draft Day disaster
Glen Hall is best goalie that ever played the game
Image his career if he had played on good teams. His career save percentage is amazing considering the length of his career. Brodeur's NHL career save % was 9.12 playing mainly in New Jersey with their trapping defensive style of play.

Yes, Hall is, as Dave Dryden has said, a "tragic hero". Six times he was in goal when the opposing team won the Stanley Cup. I'm so happy for the one time he won, in 1961.
Mr.Goalie!!!!
The record will never be broken! Now days the most someone could do is start 82 but even then it would have to be a special situation

Even then a goalie would have to do this for over 6 years which is ridicules' in todays game.
he is The Gordie Howe of Goal Tending respect doubt it will be ever be Broken
Wanted to watch but couldn't get past that 1st commercial.
Hey oddman you should do a mats Sundin story :)
You should do a video about the time that the st. Louis Blues almost moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. (I've been told that Hall may have had a hand in the transition but I've never been able to find anything to confirm or deny)
I don't know there was some players that shot pretty hard back then I'll be home
PLEASE DO A WHATEVER HAPPENED TO JAMES WISNEWSKI
7:55 is....is he hacking his own teammate????
Like old school baseball pitchers, old school goalies were more macho!
