The NHL hasn't seen this in 35 years

Спорт

Tonight in the battle of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia we got Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins against Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche as they came head to head in what was a thrilling game! Crosby had a 4 point game while MacKinnon had himself 3 point game. However, he also made NHL history. It is now Wayne Gretzky and Nathan MacKinnon. The only two players in NHL history to not only have 2 separate 18 game point streaks in one season, but also the only 2 players to ever score a point in 34 consecutive home games. MacKinnon has the chance to break the all time streak of 40 games set by Gretzky. Not only that, but MacKinnon officially set the Colorado Avalanche franchise record for most points scored in a regular season as well! I cover it all and more in todays NHL hockey video!

Always liked Malkins game better. Same with Mackinnons they are big, physical, and powerful. Can’t stand a hockey player who shys away from contact. That tip in goal by Crosby was absurd tho I’ve never seen someone tip it in from that angle.

@V3rnSqwd5611 respectfully I think you need to watch more of Sidney Crosby. he isn't going around hitting people like ovechkin, but he doesn't "shy away from contact". next time you watch him, look at how he forechecks on the offensive end of the ice. anytime he or one of his linemates dump the puck sid is always in the defenders face putting a body on him. not to mention his game revolves around getting down low below the goal line and making plays, that's where the majority of contact happens.

This is why many consider Crosby to be top 5 all time. When he dominates a game it isn't just the 4 points he put up. He was battling in his corners, their corners, laying hits, stripping pucks in the neutral zone, getting shots, passes. Doing everything a superstar does and much more. Yet he seems to be the only player who wants to win, everyone was just cruising around after the first.

After that pitiful 2016 season, it's like he flipped a switch and has became an unstoppable machine. Night in & night out, MacKinnon is the best player on the ice. Mackinnon is a beast, and one of the current best in the league no doubt. Though the year he won a cup he even didn't lead his team in regular season pts, and more importantly, finished 3rd on the team in playoff production behind Makar and Rantanen, and 3rd in +- behind Landeskog and Byram. This is one example of how hockey is a team sport with additional emphasis on goaltending and solid defensive teamplay in the playoffs. Even a beast like Mackinnon can't singlehandedly carry a team to a Stanley cup W. Number of cups isn't the most reliable metric, though worth considering to some extent imo. Some stats for you to consider: In the 2021-22 playoffs McDavid had 33 pts in 16 games at a +- 15. Conversely Mackinnon had 24 pts in 20 games at a +- 11. So idk bro, to not acknowledge McDavid in the conversation is so inaccurate and salty lol.

122 points, and that was a Avalanche record (120 by Joe Sakic in 1996), not franchise (139 by Peter Stastny in 1982).

Great video! Dunno how to feel, as a Habs fan, for Jonathan Drouin. I'm happy for him of course but can't help to think "where was that in MTL?" But yeah, I'm pretty sure the pressure of the market and the talent surrounding him wasn't ideal in Montreal.

MacK I think has an edge over McDavid and Kucherov for mvp because both of those players have won it before. I know that shouldn't have a bearing, but I bet you anything it does. So as long as he doesn't just dry up in the next 11 games, i think he has the best chance to get it. Not guaranteed of course... but I do think it gives him an edge.

As an Avs fan, I hate watching a game against the Pens with Eddie Olczyk doing the commentary. Actually, I am not a huge Eddie fan for any game. He obsesses over details that don't need obsessing and too often gets into pissing matches with other people on the broadcast. And he loves his Pens and is a homer in the worst way: he won't ever admit it.

  • @ande047

Absolutely! Almost had to mute the tv and turn on the radio during the game. That first intermission report was brutal to watch as well. “We’re gonna start calling Sid mr. TNT. He’s had two four point nights for three of the games that we’ve had the pens on TNT this year.” Really would’ve loved to hear moser and ryker call that game today.

@@ande047 Ya Moser is the best. "No doubt about it." Those two know exactly how to be local broadcasters that root for the home team. They don't hide it and admit that they are biased. And I actually find that they are pretty objective when it comes to penalties and reviewed calls. But ya Eddie is annoying. He also comes down on players a lot more than most broadcasters. Most broadcasters try to be positive whereas Eddie tries to find who didn't do their job, which I wouldn't mind, but he gets so heavy with "if you are that guy, you've gotta do xyz. You can't be doing what that guy did." And then he'll bring it up 2 or 3 more times in the broadcast. That's grating enough, but sometimes I totally disagree with him and I really just want him to shut up.

Whoever was buying people behind him and look at him now he’s the greatest player of all time and as he got further square, he kept getting low and low stats you know cause goalie got better. He never had a shot. All he ever had was an easy goal.

Pretty pathetic comment. You want an "if" statement? How about IF the Knights even get into the playoffs as the knights could still flail and not make the post season. Regardless of that, if the AVS and Knights do meet up in the post season, the Knights are going to have to dig deep to make it out of that round. AVS will clean their clocks the way they are playing right now.
