I went to see Elemental about two weeks ago, and when this trailer played, I honestly got super hyped. I loved Elemental too, but this looks cool as hell!

I think ember said “ elements don’t mix” to not hurt the kids feelings as bad, because she also said buddy which to me is more of a thing you say to kids Edit 1- why did this blow up😭

That movie is so well recieved but it didnt do well in ticket sales. Was that because people hated it? ​@@M1ztrI got to see it on odeon screen unseen. It was great. I gave it 3.5 out of 5 on letterboxes. This kid (probably about 10/13) is flirting with her so she jokes with him that elements don't mix. I don't know about you but I definitely had older people (siblings of my friends etc) who I had crushes on and it would obviously never work but they don't just hurt you as you're a kid.

Elemental reminded me of classic Pixar! We loved it and are planning on seeing it again! It’s so much deeper than just a “fire and water don’t mix, love story”

To keep this from becoming "omg same" for 300 replies, I'll explain some of why we aren't loving this movie. And I use the term "we" loosely. One issue is the xenophobia allegory. It makes too much sense for living elements to have an aversion to getting near each other, let alone hanging out or dating. Water touches flames and fizzles out, fire touches plants and they burn up. In the real world people are people, so having a "we don't mix with them" mentality is closed-minded and hurtful. But when your neighbor's body is made from stuff that hurts to touch and can end your life by being around for too long? Yeah, don't mix. So it fails as allegory. And frankly, the family drama of Ember trying to lift her immigrant father's burdens doesn't sell me on this any more than her inevitably bumbling relationship with Wade.

Looks like Inside Out 2 is being pushed ahead of Elio, which is funny, because the same thing happened with the first Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur. And also because Elemental already did the traditional Pixar “Easter egg that references the next movie” for Elio instead of Inside Out 2 (in the flashback to Wade getting stuck in a sponge, the planet from the Elio trailers is on a poster in the background promoting his school’s Space Club).

Gravity Falls had the head shape, but it was before it was a common style and it was actually made with an awesome-as-hell story. After that though... Yeah. I can’t think of any cartoons today that *don’t* use some variation of the style.

The whole point of elemental is that elements can mix. That is the growth.

I could see a way this could fit into the Pixar theory, the rest of the star cruisers each land on different planets. One race probably stays humans while the other gets turned into alien like creatures, rebuild the star cruiser and use them as ufos to make another plot like onward.

I saw Elemental recently and I thought it was really good! It’s a thoughtful way to introduce to kids the concept of the struggles of immigrant families and I thought it was really well done. The characters were funny and loveable which made it all the better

Elemental was great! I wanna watch it again in the theater today but I sadly can't..

It looks like humanity is on trial with the innocence of a child to defend us, which I’m guessing will actually turn out to be a very good thing in the long run. Very intriguing concept and Pixar is just the studio for the job
