I've just finished watching the whole video. 2 years, almost to the day that this conference was held, a pandemic swept across the world. Now, I do not hold to conspiracy theories at all, but I must confess, this does have me wondering. How is it that the USA, with all its supposed medical technology and preparedness, is so ill-prepared for this influenza pandemic? All these experts and medical professionals are talking about how ready we are, how well-equipped we are, but this influenza pandemic has taken us all so by surprise!

How wrong was he. 2020 / 2021 had record low influenza cases in many countries, due to COVID-19 non-pharmaceutical restriction measures (quarantine / border controls / reduced international travel, lockdowns, masks etc).

@@shanemcgowan9284 Remember the "flatten the curve" mantra at the beginning of lockdowns in western countries? Ie, suppression, not elimination, this only to reduce stress of hospitals. This strategy existed before COVID (I've seen pandemic prep videos with it). This was a huge fail, & only undertaken in the west. Soon as all these countries lifted the lockdowns, cases began to rise again. Countries in the East (& NZ, partly AU, etc) with strict border quarantine, extensive testing, contact tracing & self isolation, eradication goals, etc, have done far better than suppression "flatten the curve" countries. But, I agree that quarantine doesn't work if the facilities are not fit for purpose, where you keep getting breaches, community outbreaks.

For instance, the Taliban had no mask mandates, no vaccines, no lockdowns yet they were able to take over the entire country of Afghanistan in just two weeks. We can't even build a Ford truck. 🤔

@@shanemcgowan9284 That's the Middle East, very different. Eg, Iran had one of the earliest COVID outbreaks, & with very little preventive measures, continued to have wave after wave. Iraq had a tough time too. Some others have high vaccination rates. This is very different to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong etc where there is strict border control, quarantine, testing, contact tracing, etc, with elimination strategies.

The Cubans were. People got tested at home and there was strict confinement straightaway. Only in the West do people think of themselves first above the group.

The winter 'flu for 2019 or 2020. While I abhor the constant propaganda-type drip-dripping by the media and the flooding of the internet with so many "expert" opinions, I have had to reassess, knowing of how many people have died. I know that, mostly, they are older people or people with other health issues, I am reminded of the despair of a friend of mine who is an ICU nurse who weeps when she sees patients die in front of her. She is not one to exaggerate. So, while I acknowledge your views, I cannot agree with you. Perhaps you have not lost a loved one. I almost did. Perhaps you pursue conspiracy theories. I have someone in my family that does, very actively. Perhaps you live in an isolated village where covid hasn't reached. I live in a small community, and people have died here. I wish you peace, light and compassion.

Yeah, I spent 2020 in a mindless concussion. Went to the e.r. scared shitless. 2021 wasn't much better, had to learn to walk w.o. falling over. Hope 2022 will be hopeful. But yet again, they're calling for the end of the world as we know it again. 3 days and 2 nights in darkness in hollows eve. Anyway They put me in a clearing room set up with various stalls, full of coughing idiots. The nurses were all in shock and nervous. March tenth when supposedly no one knew we had a full blown pandemic and bodies in the freezers. There was never ever a triage set up in the e.r. waiting room space. Ever!! Hello, I have asthma, here for head trauma. Where's my usual private room ?They set me up to get infected. To be a statistic like other white women over 60. We make up forty percent of this country and sixty percent of covid fatalities. They're killing off your white grandma's and no one is noticing. !!!! Does anyone care???? I left that triage area. Not going there again. Thank God I read foreign news. And was aware of what they weren't telling us. Saw it first hand. Good way to get the nursing homes cleared out. If you love your mama, don't send her to Florida. If you don't, well, that's your call. Turns out my mom's son didn't have to kill her after all. She could have stayed here to die in this hospital with uninformed me. With no time or energy to read articles in foreign news. Thank God she didn't come back to FL and have to die that way. Fun fact: more Americans have now died from SARS-CoV-2 than died from the H1N1 influenza pandemic of 1918.

Very good misrepresentation of data you should work for the mainstream news. 50 million people died from the Spanish flu in less than a year and a half. Covid on the other hand (when you include the exaggerated death toll) is at less than 5 million deaths and it's been 2 years. Factor in that Spanish flu happened when the worlds population was 1/4 what it is now it was focused mainly in Europe in a time where travel wasn't as easily accessible as it is today.
