What happened to Cavil? He was supposed to be the main choice. Henry auditioned for the role at the same time as Craig, but they thought Henry was too young & jokingly told him to come back in 10 years. Booo, I think Cavil would have nailed it.

Cavill has zero box office appeal. Argylle, his last film, and a spy film!, bombed hard for Apple. You don't need a box office name to play Bond but you also don't need to hire a guy with a poor track record and unfortunately for Cavill, he has a bad box office record so why should the Bond producers pay his fee when he's not got any proven box office clout?

I hope this is true, he totally works for me. Followed his career and he's a very good actor and he's different. And Barbara Broccoli is pushing for him. I agreed with her when she was pushing for Craig, just knew he'd be brilliant. Sick of hearing about Hardy, Elba, Hiddleston and Cavill. Nah. Not so sure about the direction they want to take Bond though - time will tell.

Maybe I'm reading nonsense or maybe I'm reading between the lines, "former offer is on the table and now they're waiting for him" is a way for Barbara Broccoli to pressure him into accept the role. Maybe he is still considering it, weighing whether committing to the role for the next 15 years would be a good choice, so the producers are pressuring him by making their decision public. It would be a career killing move if he doesn't tread carefully from here, whether that means he will accept it or reject it

Henry Cavill is the epitome of James Bond. He's everyone's fantasy. Men want to be him and women want to be with him. Henry Cavill as bond will be the best bond ever in my opinion. Anyone else will be a second best.

Agree totally with that, he can act, looks good in a suit, looks after himself and is a brown belt I think in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Failing that Jason Statham might have been an interesting choice too.

nop Cavil just can't act, They considered him back in the days (17 years ago) but decided decided he was to wet behind the ears and needed more time to get better at the carft, with the official excuse that he was "too young" his craft ...sadly never did improve, Cavil remains one of the most handsome worst actors in the history of movies but who became famous purely for his looks. Aaron is an awesome actor, brilliant in fact and he's got the looks as well, so he's the full package.

I have no issue with this. Not sure how he is going to do but you want a Bond who is around 30 years old to begin with. That was the problem with Craig he was almost 40 when he was first selected. A 30 years old Bond, wound in theory let the actor play the part for 20 years. They still should have gone with Henry Cavil over Daniel Craig in my opinion.

@@vencislavgynev8282 Sean Connery was 32, the novel places Bond's birth around 1920/1921 making him 29/30 during the first novel, Casino Royale which is set around 1950. Also, yeah, maybe but picking an actor around 30, is not a huge jump. It also gives them a few extra years to develop their character. Also, George Lazenby was 30. Timothy Dalton was initially offered the part at 22 and was 41 during his first movie. Pierce Brosnan was 33 when initially offered the part, and 42 when first played the role. Daniel Craig was the oldest 38, even though he was supposed to be a new Double-0. Henry Cavil was 23 when he was in the mix along with Daniel Craig. So, I think you need to reexamine your facts. Also, 32 would not be mid or late 30s. It would be early 30s. Also, the time has changed, since the 1960s. According to Moonraker-novel, James said the mandatory retirement age is 45, but in the film, it is probably 60, since Roger Moore was 58 at the time of his last Bond film. Hell, you could even do a late-20s-year-old Bond and again have the actor grow with the character. This is what they tried to do with Craig's Bond, only failure epically.
