    Please mark me down as another one that really appreciates the work you put into your videos. I normally just watch and click like, but you need positive feedback too. Sorry, that you were bombarded with negative comments at all and especially sorry they came at such a vulnerable time for you. I hope your son and family are all back to 100% and doing well. Thanks for yet another great video!

    Midland was the first brand that really got my attention that was not a commercial radio. They by far out perform radios such as the UV5r

    After recently switching from ham general to Gmrs, I sure appreciate the Gmrs radio content in an overland context. The handheld reviews are especially helpful since I typically buy a few handhelds for others who come wheeling with me. 73, WSDJ673 Prescott, AZ

    Love your comments about the guy revving his car! I am watching your video trying to decide which GMRS radio to buy. Going on an off-road adventure in Big Bend National Park and the organizer said they will be using GMRS radios. I did acquire my license, no just need to decide what to buy, so many choices!

    As a radio nerd myself, I think these are awesome! Especially if you use a repeater. In theory, you could possibly talk around a whole city, or even county with these. These are also good if you just got your GMRS license, and need something kinda powerful, and simple. Great review!!!! I'm so Sorry you son had to go through that, may God bless him!!!

    Enjoyed your video and your philosophy as well. Sometime around 2012 my first radio was the Midland LXT 310 (own two), still use them. Now I have need for repeater capabilities, so a while back I purchased a two pack of Tidradio TD-H3. This GXT3000 sounds particularly good, however their menu system appears the same as my twelve-year-old LXT 310; truly unfun. It would have been good if Midland incorporated a removable antenna, then maybe we could connect their Ghost antenna on the vehicle. Having owned a couple of Midland CB and LXT 310, I realize Midland produced quality products. Sadly, they fell far behind in the GMRS industry with HT improvements, such as repeater capabilities, USB-C charging, removable antenna, firmware upgrade, channel programing, and the like. Although they now include some of those, they are pricing themselves well above other HT devices having more capabilities for less than half Midland's price. Midland you can do better.

    keep going to do great content!!!! I always really appreciate your videos for how they are made... Having a fixed radio in the car in my opinion is almost mandatory (the frequency preference depends on the state where you live), being Italian I have both the CB (which is used on the move) that at least a couple of prm446 portables (let's say the free European equivalent of frs gmrs) to have a radio for me and one for those coming in convoy or for the spotters who come down and tell me where to put the tires or when to pull with the winch. I conclude by saying that I am also a radio amateur but not a snob, radios are used to unite and communicate, even having fun but not to divide or act like clowns

    Hi... Hope your boy has totally recover by now... I personally enjoy all of the radios... I have a huge collection of radios... Why??? in the past I've handed these to neighbors during a hurricane and we stay in touch... check on each other, report on fallen trees, noises, damages, etc.. then when we go camping we give them to people as they do boating, walking etc... you can't have enough comms bro.. You do a great job on these reviews.. keep up the great work.

    wow, I hope your son is doing well. Having raised 4 children. I can feel your pain. Please don’t let other people dampen your thoughts and your drive you do have what it takes , thank you for your hard work helping us to be informed about the product. Midland should be lucky they have you out there. I do understand loyalty is important. My question today is I am not concerned about the money so I believe I will order two GTX 67 Pro radios tomorrow. I think they’re just a step up but you can let me know your thoughts ? at the end of the day the extra money shouldn’t be the concern the quality in the performance if it’s that much better. if you’re paying more, you get what you pay for that’s just the way it is and there’s nothing wrong with that! hopefully someday our path will cross, as I do live in the Florida area as well would gladly help with any communication or testing you need if you’re near me. OK, thanks again and stay 💪🏻

    Good info. Sounds like if you have a set of older GXTs, just run them until they die or you upgrade. No real need to swap to the newer GXTs. I keep 3 GXTs in my rig to hand for the same reasons as you, so people don’t need the baller GXT67 Pro when I give them a radio.

    How many miles can these radios effectively communicate with each other in the city with tall buildings radio to radio?

  • @BaptismOverland

    @BaptismOverland

    17 күн бұрын

    It's all about line of sight. Without it you're not gonna get much no matter what radio you use. So that'll depend on where each of you are. If you're both on the ground, probably very little. But if you're both on the roof top of skyscrapers you could be on opposite sides of town and have no problems

    Wish I could tell you. I'm not out in the ocean. BUT I'm assuming you'd have better line of sight there. You won't be able to use repeaters though but boat to boat you should be able to speak up to whatever range the walkies advertise as you won't have trees and such blocking. But the other guy has to be on GMRS too

    Instead of making a universal dock...............BUILD THEM WITH USB RECHARGING!!!! The fact MIDLAND continues to not include this feature is baffling. They included it in a few FRS radios in the T Series. The T51, 61 and 71 all had micro USB recharging. It's not USB-C but still most have micro USB lying around. Hell, you can get USB-C batteries for Baofengs now days. There's zero excuse for MIDLAND to do this other than being lazy or trying to fleece people for more money. I don't get specific to most brands other than being generally against MIDLAND, even after owning some and still having one of their small CB units around. But they have the power of the marketing dollar in their pocket and people who continue to push them when other, better, lower cost options exist, will do a disservice to those who follow them. As far as compliance. There are plenty of non MIDLAND overseas radios (even MIDLANDs come from overseas) that are PART95 certified so they're as compliant as any other PART 95 radio.

  • @BaptismOverland

    @BaptismOverland

    Ай бұрын

    I agree. I hope at some point they just make it all USB C and call it a day. Maybe a dock for organization but not have it reliant on the shape. Maybe a dock to slip the clip onto and then you route the usb cable through it Damn...maybe I'll DIY one

    Thanks for the input. Honestly this video was supposed to be less review of the product and more addressing the video prior. So I filmed it in a way where people can either watch the whole thing or just the review parts or, hey, even the venting parts.
