The Newly Discovered Casebook of Sherlock Holmes
Episode 3
Case Of The Deranged Botanist (1/30/99)
The Newly Discovered Casebook of Sherlock Holmes was a BBC Radio 2 comedy series written by Tony Hare. It starred Roy Hudd, Chris Emmett, Jeffrey Holland, and June Whitfield, and was broadcast between 16 January 1999, to 20 February 1999.
The burlesque series was a comic pastiche of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. The series was recorded in front of a live audience and each 30 minute episode was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 at 1 pm, making some of the rude, and occasionally crude, jokes rather risqué for the time of day.

This is a delightfully twisted romp through Brit humor. I'm really disappointed that they only did six of these. I've listened to them all numerous times and they're just as funny now.
Just Brilliant. Love Roy Hudd. Are there any other series ? Ask for Gladis. His, one, two.
"Baker Street’s Great Detective Sherlock Holmes is on the case in a monstrous tale of cross-bred plants and humans. Roy Hudd spoofs the famous sleuth in Tony Hare’s comedy series. With Chris Emmett as Dr Watson, June Whitfield as Mrs Hudson and Jeffrey Holland as Inspector Lestrade."
Oh my goodness what can I say? these jokes are so shocking.
Blocked out by the BBC that must have been a big one. :-)
At 15:17 - what was that about?
