Hey everyone, I just wanted to quickly address something from episode 4 as I see there are a few comments below. I'm aware that I made a miscalculation on my attack rolls during the game. As a newbie, I sometimes still struggle with finding my way around (and deciphering) the ol' paper version of my D&D Beyond sheet. Unfortunately, in this instance, it led to my mistake. After the episode, Harry gave me a call to help me understand where I was going wrong, and while I feel a bit (quite) embarrassed, I should be sorted going forward, though it's not something we can undo for this episode, sorry! For me, our group's varying levels of knowledge and skills are just one thing that makes me love our dynamic even more. It also means some of us, like me, are still learning and will inevitably make mistakes from time to time (I know this isn't my first mistake). They're not something I ever want to truly edit out because I love that we share this experience with you all, embracing both the fun and the challenges. I have played 5th edition since it came out and still realise that I have been doing something wrong now and again. Until a year ago I never realised that the fighter class got two extra ASI's or feats at levels 6 and 14. Loving the show though.

Happens to literally everyone, especially new players. Don't even worry about it. Seeing everyone at different experience levels makes this a much better and more interesting show imo

“Role performance with disadvantage you are after all in a highchair” I love this so much

Harry’s diction is glorious. Every time he says, “Shall we play some Dungeons and Dragons?” each consonant gives me a wonderful frisson. Love this campaign.

Radion's quick thinking combined with I's (the kobold, not the me's) ability to get sh*t done is such a god-tier combination, and I am here for every second of it!

I’m loving this adventure. The cast are terrific and the plot is intriguing. Roll on the next episode. …. and don’t sweat the little “mechanical” errors, you learn as you go and course-correct. The role play is exceptional and that’s all that matters!

These episodes are a lot of fun. The quality of each one grows and should not be missed. Harry McEntire is a great DM and the party of five are a blast!! Lots of fun!

I really like the death save behind the DM screen. It should be secret from the rest of the party since they wouldn't know if it was a pass or fail.

Honestly from when I (the character, not the me) rolls their perception check on the festival the following 30 mins are amongst my favourite in D&D You all, on & off screen, should be so proud of the work that you've put in and the end result. Thank you to all the backers who helped make it possible Can't wait to continue on the journey!

what's most interesting to me is the fact so far there is a battle in every episode (i count the landslide episode as an encounter) its very uncommon for such a thing to happen to my opinion

This is just getting better and better. The production is excellent, the descriptions and narration by the DM is fantastic and every episode is becoming more enthralling and you can see the players are really into it. This is fast becoming my favourite DnD campaign to watch. Fyi: Endellions bonus attacks with her dagger don't benefit from her strength & proficiency modifiers unless she has the two weapon fighting feat / dual welding. Also she doesn't get bonus actions back with action surge.

This keeps getting better and better

Aoife wore a black shirt. Against a black screen. So on camera she looks like The Wizard of Oz - just a floating head with a mysterious pair of disconnected hands. I'm not complaining, it's a pretty cool "camera trick" LOL. Just thought you should be aware, going forward if you care about things like this you can try to better coordinate everyone's outfits against the background so nobody ends up looking like a disembodied head (at least not accidentally).

Loving the campaign - can't wait to see where it goes. I'm a nerd so I'm going to make a quick rules comment - Proficiency with a weapon is added to the to-hit role bur not to the damage. Its a small thing that trips up just about everyone when they start playing :)

Stats nerding aside, it's about the adventure. At the end of the day, would the outcome have been much different? In all the legacy style games I've played, anytime we've cheesed a rule or broke the game a bit, we just acknowledge it and move on. Sometimes we give out a debuff for the next game. But it's nothing to get broken up about. Games are played for fun! And you guys are killing it in the fun department. Love the ongoing spoons gag! And all the unintentional comedy (usually from Ben).

Loving this dnd group so far. I have one input just as a suggestion. To me it sometimes feels like the group needs to make a lot of rolls when they are interacting between each other. This sometimes feels like it takes their own agency away from what their answers, decisions or reactions would be. Maybe its also deliberate since some of them are still getting used to the game. Just some food for thought. 😊 Otherwise it is really great and some amazing dm work so far! Cheers!

I definitely agree with this. I don't see this group as the kind to weaponize such roles but, with the notable exception of insight/deception interactions, most groups I've been a part of disallow what amounts to mechanical compulsion. I find it much better for play and RP to discuss such things so that the PCs are acting as if they are actual people and treating each other accordingly.

Proficiency is added to attack rolls but not to damage rolls.

This is Critical Role levels of good!!

Great episode again all! Just a friendly reminder. You add your proficiency bonus to hit not damage. I loved the high chair bit! So funny!

“It is caramel” is being added to the list of I quotes that are epic and hilarious 🤣. I love our chaos gremlin group here. This group’s dynamic is perfect and seeing them getting better at playing together and having fun is perfection. 💕 my favorite moments aren’t even the intense ones, it’s the small moments that make it awesome. To me those small little RP moments that are few and far between are the best. Can’t wait for Action Surge and the next session! Waiting to see what the highest tally of spoons Dollie gets into Raidions bag is! 🥄

Okay I don't care what anyone says I was definitely subscribed to this channel and just had to resubscribe

I love the idea of the players rolling their own death saves but not knowing the result; I do this at my table too! I have a dice tower for this (from Wrymwood). Opening at the top players can drop dice in, but the result tray is towards me. It feels better for the players than my rolling it myself, but still ads to the suspense since they don't know how its going. For VTT players, you can typically achieve something similar with silent/gm rolls that the players do but only the DM sees.

No beautiful live scenery for the combat? I am a bit disappointed :( I guess they really spoiled us for the first three episodes 😅 Still loving this series though! ❤

Do you all have any plans to increase the frequency of airing shows? I would love to have an episode each week to watch! It just keeps getting better!

In an ideal world, these will one day become once a week. Sadly, right now, with us all working full-time we just can't get into the studio frequently enough to make it happen (also things like studio costs, editing etc). It's the long-term goal, though! - Hollie

As others have said... you might want to check Hollie's modifier's to damage. Looks like the proficiency bonus was being added to the damage when it should only be added to the attack roll. Should just be a +5 because of the 20 in strength.

Love the videos so far and the character cards are perfect, for reminding you of each person. Though I feel like you missed out, on the opportunity to classify "I", the character not me, as having the gender "I/I"😂 Other than that I am looking forward to the next episode.

I definitely second this. Though I will point out it's only +2 Proficiency at this level and will only make an actual impact if Kelnys isn't proficient in the Slight of Hand skill that Harry has been going with.

Firstly, I know that there are real and valid reasons for why and I’m grateful for it all. But ugh. Why are these 3 hour uploads so short?! I swear they just FLY by every week. Secondly, I’ve been trying so hard to figure out where I know Harry from and I finally came to the realization today that it’s not that I know him from any of his works. It’s because in this lighting, he looks very much like the lovechild of Charlie Puth and Taron Egerton.

I finished this episode! Just one comment, though not specifically about this episode: I know some DMs allow PvP contests (Persuasion vs. Insight or Deception vs. Insight, for instance) between PCs, but it feels strange when the players are roleplaying so well in front of the camera. It's not necessary, in my opinion.
