exactly. when you're making that much money doesn't matter as much. i obviously havent made millions yet myself, but even having $100k in the bank didn't make me happy. money only solves financial problems.

Nowitzki did this many times in his career. Would re sign early and forfeit a lot of money on the scaling payment to help his team. Per athletic nowitzki overall forfeited more than 100 millions to help his team. Now there's the unfortunate circumstance that Mark Cuban in his infinite wisdom gave that money to chandler parsons but that's another story.

Knicks fan here, LOVE Jalen; I would've totally understood him wanting the bigger contract next year but him accepting this one and studying success as self justification and team flexibility makes me love him even more. Both incredibly impressive and endearing. Unselfishness like that is rarely seen nowadays. I may be a fan so I have some bias sure, but - as a Bills fan too I always respected Brady and Mahomes for the same. Glad Jalen is OUR GUY. I hope he gets a chip one day, that energy deserves it.

This kind of sacrifice is what we want to see from everyone trying to win a championship. You cannot say you're all in on winning while also having a max contract.

The 1st superstar & mvp calibur player to put the team 1st all he wants is to win in ny & to have the security of being on the team long term. He is the true savor of the Knicks. As a Knicks fan, this nearly made me cry. He continues to put the team above all when he's the heart and soul of it. He's going to score the same amount of points this year per game and his assists will reach at least 7.5 per game adding Bridges to the Knicks. However, we still need a back-up center and need to figure out if Randle fits what we're doing for the future and right now. Still a couple of big question marks there (same with Mitch Rob simply because of his health), but I think we see one more big move soon or at least like resigning Achiuwa.
