What a fucking legend! Sang on one of the most legendary thrash albums ever recorded! Had the honour of meeting him in person back in 1989 at Nottingham Rock City, UK - he had no ego and was just hanging out in the club before and after their set, meeting fans and playing the arcade game machines in reception. He shook our hands and thanked us for coming to the gig! :)

  • @Simonize41

I had a similar experience at The Marquee Club (in London), minus the arcade machines, though. Insanely honest, friendly and down to earth. They say never meet your heroes, Billy is the exception.

@@Simonize41WOW! I'm from New York. And there was a bar called The Lost Horizon that hosted a lot of the hardcore bands I'd go to see. Bands like DRI , Suicidal Tendencies , Cro-Mags , and Danzig to name a few. Billy Milano would attend a lot of these shows as just a fan. This was around the time he had his own band called MOD. The Lost Horizon was a place where if someone attends a show you're going to see them. My friends and I would go out of our way to avoid Billy because he was such a prick. He would just mess with people for no reason and he was a solid guy. But my friends and I were 14 at the time so it was kinda impossible for us to do anything back.

To everyone quibbling that Billy/SOD was not hardcore but metal, crossover, whatever stupid label you need to understand, Billy was more to the NYHC community than just a front man, for instance he worked the stages & bounced at all of the clubs in NYC where you could see a hardcore show. The guy could be a menacing presence and like running into a fireplug....unmoveable. But a big (angry as fuck) teddy bear.

His humor is not for everyone but i remember 2 decades ago when he was with SOD... He was the only one who would stand outside and sign autographs for fans with Dan. Scott and Charlie bolted. And more respect so as well To Billy when some years ago he turned down a 20,000 dollar each show tour date with SOD out of respect for the fans. All respect to Anthrax and all this... But if it has become that do it all for money then... Whatever dudes.
