This looks a very impressive book. The print size is given on the CTS website as Stone font 13.5 point so that is not that small. This version is intended to be used by our Parish Priests. There is also a Chapel version and a Sudy version.
Well-done. It is beautiful and well thought out with regard to use. My one concern is the size and boldness of the font used for the text. The text seems small and as if it uses only about 2/3 of the page.
Many of the translations people thought were new to the Roman Missal for the 3rd edition when contrasting with the 2nd edition were actually changed back to the original English translations for that book.
happy someone did this, seems like I finally felt really confortable with the old one!
Why is this Missal being introduced? We had an accurate English translation of the Latin Missal at the time of Vatican 2. Why wasn't this used then? Surely the current wording was deliberate and, with the other changes, intended to modernize the church. I'm also very aware of the fact that this is being 'pushed' by hierarchy in the US. A very lot of money is being made out of this exercise throughout the English-speaking world. Can't see it halting dwindling numbers!
