Well considering that they were able to defeat several Imperial Warlords and many worlds were steady joining the New Republic they had a lot of confidence in winning the Galactic Civil War.

1:08 Queen Ta'Chume is a pretty underrsted Star Wars villain. She literaly killed the wife of her own son because she saw her as an annoying pest, not to mention she even tried to murder her great-grandaughter Allana. Cannot blame Jacen for causing her a comatose brain hemorrhage through the Force when he knew the truth

I just love Legends, especially this period, it feels like a galactic-level Warring States Period akin to Japanese or Chinese history. Those were rough times to actually live in, especially as an ordinary person, but they were also exciting settings for a story because it's like the starting position in most 4X strategy games, everything's up for grabs. I've seen people say that the Battle of Scarif feels like a round of Battlefront, well this period of post-Endor scramble feels like Empire at War. Like Thrawn's Revenge, you could almost say.

Very nice! I like to call this period Treuten's 5 minutes of fame. The fact that he's able to win some good victories against the Empire and manage the massive force that is Crimson command shows he has some capabilities as a commander, but compared to the likes of Ackbar he's out of his depth (water joke not intended, but KJA would be proud of me). I think the fate of Zsinj's forces is interesting since some joined Treuten, his loyal Raptors became anti-New Republic terrorists, other elements joined the Restored Empire/Kaarenth Dissension, and some even rejoined the Empire with llon Banjeer eventually becoming a member of Carnor Jax's ruling council.

The fact that Treuten favored smaller ships than ISDs and that Pellaeon admitted that he learned a lot from Teradoc about raiding tactics shows that he was indeed a great tactician.

You should make a video about how Wraith Squadron captured their corvette in book 1, would love to see that model ship

Can we get a video on Rogriss? He’s always seemed interesting to me.

Inspired by Thrawn's Revenge I do like to believe the CSA asserted themselves as a truly independent power during the post-Zsinj campaigns, absorbing much of Zsinj's forces and getting into their own (albeit likely brief) conflicts with the Empire, Maldrood, and New Republic.

Well it's more likely that they just took their own 500 Victory Star Destroyers and made arrangements with the other powers. There's not any indication that much of Zsinj's forces(or any) joined the CSA. The lore mentions most of Zsinj's rump forces joining Teradoc with the few remaining Raptors joining Ennix Devian. The remainder were either captured or destroyed by the Empire or New Republic. The New Republic had no territorial claims against the CSA, nor any real reason to invade them, the Greater Maldrood and the Empire had more pressing problems to deal with so the CSA kind of became defacto independent again by virtue of the big powers being busy elsewhere.

@@grandadmiralzaarin4962 Gist of it is this - Last anyone would have known, Zsinj had absorbed the Corporate Sector into his Empire and either disbanded or subjugated the Authority. On top of that, both the Empire and Maldrood would have viewed the Corporate Sector as semi-autonomous (prior to Zsinj's absorption) Imperial territory. Lastly, given their stated aims and general political leanings, there would certainly be some in the Alliance and New Republic who would want to break the Authority's hold and liberate the Corporate Sector even before Zsinj absorbed it into his Empire. All three would then have reason and motive to move into the Corporate Sector while attempting to absorb the vestiges of Zsinj's Empire, while the CSA would have *several* good reasons to re-assert their own authority, obtain as much of Zsinj's old stuff as they could, and force all three to back off especially if any of them entered CSA territory first. And, of course, the CSA might want to expand the Corporate Sector as well. Both continuities also have a habit of simply ignoring the Corporate Sector a lot of the time, so there's plenty of "wiggle room" to work something like this in without stepping on any toes continuity-wise.

An awful lot happened in under 9 months, since the Battle of Dathomir to the beginning of the Thrawn campaign was less then the duration of a human pregnancy.

@@michaelandreipalon359 Thrawn 9ABY, Datk Empire 10ABY (so Leia got pregnant again almost immediately after Jacen and Jaina were born), Jedi Academy 11ABY (So Jacen was 2 when he picked up that lightsaber).

2:45 The Essential Guide to Warfare is absolute MADNESS. It tell us the whole military history of the Galaxy, from Xendor's rebellion in 25.000 BBY to Darth Krayt's Empire. I freaking love the unique illustrations by Chris Scalf that depict the Pius Dea Crusades, Darth Bane's duel on Tython, the Yuuzhan Vong War, etc. Anyway, my only problem with the book is how it tries to fit the Clone Wars CGI show in the Legends continuity, even though Filoni's cartoon has too many important inconsistencies to make something like that possible Absolutely reccomended

In short, a great book that deserves a rewritten rerelease nowadays.

New republic match forward post zsinj was aided by a number of factors in making several giant leaps forward; in taking his old territory by imperial infighting working in their favour, dark empire pulling resources to it in shape of ssd whelm and its fleet is why Anaxes fell and creative thinking allowing them to seize Kuat. They could understandably mistakingly believed that they had won or just short of winning, before Thrawn and the cloned emperor after him emerged from hiding to prove that the war was far from over.

The Fall of Kuat is such a great idea

Look on the bright side, at least the Remnant got kicked so badly that they didn't form a First Order later on (and that's with Thrawn and the Reborn Emperor in mind), all while the NR didn't end up beleaguered enough to have a ruthless Titans organization formed after a Star Wars take on Operation Stardust.
