Rose feels like he has to solve the problem now, or no one else will. Of course, his plan is extremely dangerous and would kill a bunch of people via rampaging Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon, but that's why he's the villain. However, he isn't wrong about them eventually running out of resources. There's no underlying political reason in how GF deals with their stories. The story writers of pokemon are afraid of making bold moves when it comes to plot, that's it. Back when Black/White were making waves cause they tried to challenge the notion that pokemons ultimately enjoyed being captured by humans, which was an interesting take on the matter, they gimped it when it turned out that N was a naive puppet and Ghetsis a closet psycho. Same shit. Rose has a relatable final goal but in order to dispel any kind of critical thinking on the player's part they decided that his plan was retarded because of some obvious reason no one could object in their right mind.

The trainers not looking completely dead inside, and the occasional legitimately cool animation (like the Sword legendary slicing Eternatus and Leon's cloak toss) are the only reason I'm not super mad about the reused animations. They do bother me for sure, but this is Game Freak. Anybody who was expecting everything to be new just because it's on a home/handheld console hybrid that's more powerful than ever before had their standards way too high for this company.

Like _yeah,_ it's funny to hear him say the word "Champion" at least six times whenever he shows up, but it's still bad. It might've been cool if for once we actually saw him doing something to reinforce that, but instead he's all talk right up until the end.

I honestly think he's just playing it up for the fans. If you talk to him post game it becomes pretty clear he wasn't really into this whole champion thing. He probably just wanted to battle and the title was a secondary thing.

That does make him a lot more likeable, but the games still could've done a better job showing it. The thing about eternatus is especially glaring, since after he fails to catch it (in a regular pokeball no less), you end up fighting the thing, and it's at full health, and leon is suddenly nowhere to be found.

Considering that he held the Galarian Championship since he was 10 I can understand why. He was basically a protagonist from any of the other main pokemon games and didn't lose until another 10 year old came in and stopped him.

"I had to grind for this view" *is 10 levels under Leon's Pokemon*

History repeats itself, Leon became champion when he was 10/11 too. He was the protagonist of his time, probably with Rose (who got second in the league then) and Sonia as his rivals.

Something hilarious about mr dad bod and his assistant, they were both designed by the maker of land of the lustrous, however in none of her drawings does he have a dad bod or the tiny shorts he has in game. The whole "looking out for the future" thing is a cute theme that would make a great story for a game, it's a shame they just decided to shoehorn it in at the last second.

The transition from the 7th gym to the beginning of the Cup feels so rushed. Pretty sure there was more planned to the whole Macro Cosmos / Energy theme there but cut because of time concerns. I mean we just hear about wild pokemon dynamaxing in cities etc but never actually fight one ourselves
