In my opinion...the best Sportster that HD ever made! Just wish they had the 3.5 gallon tank option with that color and graphics!

I bet this guy got gas twice just in that little ride. Jk. Kinda. All jokes aside I currently have a sportster 72. Same color red as the one in this video. Its actually my first Harley ever. I knew a kid with a 72 that was the gold flake and fell in love with the look of the 72s at that moment and told myself that would be the Harley I would have if I had one and now I do. You feel cool riding it. Its definitely a eye catcher everywhere. And it's a fun bike that gives you a bit of a chopper vibe. Just keep in mind when you're out riding that you better make sure you got alot of gas stations around if you plan on riding far or all day. 10/10 would recommend

Very nice bike and what sux is I like most of the Sporty models but at 6'3" 280 none of them would fit me. I had high hope for the 48 but just too cramped and well on to a bigger Dyna instead. The Street Bob is nice and doesn't make you look like an old man or lil punk kid. Just right. No offense to the other model riders I just like the basics wrapped around a sleeper v-twin.

The 90's & 2000's were the best looking bikes off the line. Bring back the Night train,the dynas, the cool sportsters, the heritage with 2 tone paint.

Favorite modern harley

What a beautiful looking bike. Love the old school choppers and pan head engines. The only thing I would change is the tyres. Never been a fan of white wall tyres.

@YannickLuna I prefer the iron 883 over the 72, because it has a more sportster-true look and feel. I've always prefered fat-bob style handlebars over the shoulder bobbers. That's just my opinion.

I have a Harley now I use to ride street bikes when I was younger. And now I just ride comfortably. I admit my judgment of them were blinded. Back then it was all about the gsxr 600 and r 6 for me ( I believe in ridig better not bigger motor) and even hated Harley's but now I ride my Harley everyday and quickly. Not that they fast or slow. But just people who buy Harley's don't get on it much . I do a lot cause I use to ride street bikes . But now too old and bad back lol. Doesn't mean I can't

I like my little sportster ...... Light fast fun to ride.

good choice my man. my first car was the Harley-Davidson Nightster. went in 1/2 with my parents and never looked back. some people say they are to slow, heavy. ect. i say ride what you want and do you! p.s. my Nightster is PLENTY fast. if i ever want to race motorcycles then i'll get a crotch rocket...till then i'll be on my AMERICAN H-D

@dickdiggler2 My thoughts exactly. I 'love* the 48's looks, but after having riden one (and seeing myself on it in pics), the Sporty is just off the plate for me. And I'm only 1,81cm/85kgs (roughly 5'10/11 and 170 lbs). That said, I like the 72's looks a lot. The porn-star of the Sportster-range.

So, I want to get a harley...and I'm thinking I've decided on this one. I'm a little torn though, because I'm not a huge dude. I'm about 5'8 or so, 165 pounds..Type of bike that is most comfortable to me is a low-rear end bobber style bike, with shoulder level handlebars, and I think this would be decent because it's a mix of both. Any riders (harley or otherwise) know of a decent bike like this? Gotta be a cruiser, don't care about much else.

ever heard the saying if it aint broke dont fix it ? and poor handling .. its not a fuckin tack bike and its easier to get around a parking lot then a damn rocket. this would be a hell of alot more comfortable to. it also is a hell of alot cheaper and easier to maintain and customize then a POS rocket

I hope he didn't ride too far out of town ... 1200cc + 8L = lots of fuel stops. It is a great looking bike though, in fact I don't think they've made a bad bike since the Rocker. Keep it up H-D.

Hey,I want such a long,HQ commercial for the Softail Slim-in my view by far more appealing bike than this one.No offence,I like Sportsters-Iron,Nightster,not so much 48,but the Slim with 50s styling and undeniable rawness is one of the best looking stock HD out there,maybe with the exception of tires (sorry,I can´t get rid of the feeling that they´ll hinder the handling as they did with the 48).The 72 with 8 litre tank,miniapes,chrome engine and flashy paint doesn´t have the Slim´s balls...
