Uncle Jon what's up bro, I took have met Micheal at a clinic, but 20 years ago, my friend dragged me there, and bought a guitar from him, but the one thing I noticed besides his playing was his attitude and how nice he was, not jaded from the industry. I was already a Nashville studio musician, and very jaded by how the biz worked on my end, but not being a shredder, was my thing, eventually a blues shredder like Joe bonamassa was where Nashville guitar was heading, not the La sound from decades before

@ericchavez9168 Hate to break this to ya, but tons of artists are inspired by the music of artists besides themselves. Ghost got nominated for a Grammy for a cover of Iron Maiden's Phantom of the Opera. It is a really good cover, too. I mean, Phantomime only had 5 songs on it, but that Maiden cover stood out. Disturbed did an amazing cover of Simon and Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence. Maybe "liberate your mind" a bit.

@@ericchavez9168What a brilliant insight; nobody has ever thought of putting down artists for playing covers before; so original and smart of you. Too bad you weren't around when Jimi Hendrix covered Hey Joe, All Along The Watchtower, and The Star Spangled Banner, or when Stevie Ray Vaughan covered Little Wing; if only your brilliant insight had been available to them at the time, it would have saved them the trouble and embarrassment of releasing those terrible cover songs; lowly mimicry. 🙄😁😜 Dummy.

You can try!! Or make up a whole new style OF playing because a lot of famous guitarists had fingers missing Django Reinhardt had his hand Mamed up and he only used two or three fingers to do all those sounds on one guitar

After playing for 15+ years, I tried playing a left handed guitar. I was literally starting from scratch. My picking/rhythm hand had no fretting skills and my fretting hand had no skills in the movements for playing rhythm guitar, though I had also played various percussion instruments for years. Doing what you did there takes more dedication than most people probably realise.

It's hard to believe that a guitarist of his caliber was once a beginner like everyone else. That guitar has to be very heavy but he had full control over it. Thanks for posting.

Yes he can, but he is a leftie so playing left is more natural to him than most people. I myself played classical music on piano for 7 years but playing a leftie guitar is just whole different universe, it's like starting to play guitar from 0, I tried it myself...
