normally I dont care much about devs providing access to their games for youtubers. However having Knuckle Cracker give Tom a go at their upcoming game (and based on their discord, he is the only content creator thus far) is putting a smile on my face.

To be fair to Tom, he probably *is* the biggest Creeper World influencer at this point, certainly in volume. I know I checked out the Creeper World 4 and previous installments because of him. The fact they put a reference to him in the game is a nice touch though.

While I definitely checked out CW4 because of Tom, when "BAM" started showing up in the custom level tags is when I really got a sense of just how much Tom ended up bringing folks over to play it.

The fact that you are in the game is not a surprise. The big surprise is that there isn't a character called "John Rambo".

Well the problem with that would be that Lionsgate (to my knowledge anyway) owns the rights to the Rambo franchise. Tom calling the supper upgraded shooty boi "John Rambo" is simply a reference to the titular character, who for the most part acts as a one-man army in the action films and comics from which he is based.

@@Swordkirby9999 Pretty sure they could just slightly adapt the name and it would be legal. Lot's of games have references to Rambo, Terminator, Robo-cop etc. and often call them something similar. I mean look at broforce ^^ But then again, I'm not a lawyer and if I was an indie studio I sure as hell wouldn't want to risk it anyways, or go through the trouble of talking it through with a lawyer.

Really like the pressure mechanic they implemented for creeper that's stuck underground so it's not too obvious and you get a massive wave if you're not prepared.

Same here. It sets up for really interesting potential solutions on relieving pressure to direct the Creeper in ways that you can deal with, and also ways for things to just go catastrophically sideways in really unexpected ways as well.

This easter egg is so stupid and so cute at the same time, I love it

I like the new direction of powder based game design. I played a lot of those kinda of physics sandbox type games like the powder game back in the day

I like the Angory Tom easter egg but I *love* they took their spin off game Particle Fleet: Emergence and smashed it straight into Creeper World

The dynamics of this game are wild. I love how they took the idea of the kill squad and based the combat around that rather than sacrificial towers

Same. Ever since *Noita* ended up not really being Tom's jam, I'd been hoping he'd find another pixel physics sim, but I'd never expected it to be *Creeper World* of all games!

I watched some of the developer livestreams on this and it was really interesting hearing how everythign works and how flexible the engine is, as much as I'm looking forward to the game coming out I'm also excited to see what the modders will do.

This seems like, mechanically, it will be more interesting. There was something satisfying about the Creep being a big buncha jello physics in 4 though.

Some people are saying the graphics are bad, but they're missing important context, which is having been a gamer in like 1997, and appreciating fine Bryce-based CGI (that menu background!). SMH.

also, i like the pathfinding solution he came up with. instead of big ships getting stuck, they just flow like water around obstacles. i wasn't sure how to feel about it at first, but it grew on me quickly when i realized how much better the gameplay would feel knowing your units are actually going to go where you want them to go.

There's something REALLY satisfying about that old style even down to the menu and other UI layout.

I really like the idea of digging out the earths core to just put the creeper somewhere else for a bit

Love that they gave Tom a shout-out, what a nice buncha devs!

I can't wait to see the stuff other people make! Play as human being the of course default mode, then PAC became probably more popular, and all the spinoffs with cursors, FPS, and even the CSM maps based on the older games; so many cool ideas brought forward. I wonder how many of them were brought to the game by Tom like I was...

I absolutely love those Angorium TOM guys! The graphics really feel like a game from the 90s and I am absolutely here for it. At first I thought the gameplay was going to be something removed from CW4 but honestly they did a great job making it both feel similar gameplay wise while also making it quite new and different. Very cool!

I _unabashedly love_ pixel physics sandbox sims and wasn't expecting ta see a *_Creeper World_* game go this route! A very different feel - but I am 100% here for it.

I love the creeper world series and love how every game has its own unique take to keep it fresh instead of just polishing an old game and slapping a higher number on the side.

i gota say , the ''blob'' way the ships moves as if turning into so many small pieces they move as a fluid ...at least for a ''speed over any other consideration!'' or 'none combat' area moving through , fits nicely i think with a universe that have serious nanobot tech and cognition engram tech

Imagine, creeper world but with actual water physics. But imagining's the best you can do, because that'll never happen.

I checked out a bit of a dev stream a bit ago and it didn't seem like my cup of tea, but this seems like a blast now. They're def getting my money when it comes out. Especially if it has the same community mapping feature that CW4 did.

The sentry bots finally got revenge on Tom for kamikaze-ing their turret brothers directly onto creep in the previous game

Sorry to have to tell you this, but you have to replay the second mission. There is a pocket of creeper at the very bottom of the map you missed because your UI hid it from you.
