Schneider era Breitling is so cool

My dady bought one NKUWAN and he loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when he went out with it.

I’m a Breitling fan and own the SOH2 in 42mm and the new Chronomat GMT 40mm with the platinum bezel. When I see these watches you could get the Chronomat with the bullet bracelet in the 40mm GMT or the chronograph 44mm for the same price.

Just bought the 42mm with black dial.. 👍🏾

I have the Avenger 45. Great size.

I liked the winged Breitling logo on the old model more than the B.

​@JHK-DTRADER777 do people mistake your watch for an Invicta? I had the last gen SO42 and Avenger 43. The Invicta association was the most common comment I got on those watches. I'm actually thinking the return to the classic "B" isn't such a bad idea...

I tried the 42mm in green and it’s so freaking cool!! It doesn’t wear 51mm in length. Feels very nice on my 6.75 inch wrist. If I didn’t already have a luxury dive watch in my collection this is what I’d buy!!

These look great, very solid watches, always had a good experience with Breitling boutiques, they seem to know their stuff and their customers. Green dial auto is really calling to me

The Chrono is awesome

I've only briefly had a look at these in person. I think they look solid. The Breitling boutique reps didn't mention the Avenger could low key be used as a weapon in a fight, which I think was a miss. As an Explorer II owner, I'm down with steel bezels. That may also explain why I feel like the 42mm automatic would be the one for me, specifically the blue on bracelet. Thinness is underrated in watches. Sure, people complain when a watch is thick, but I don't see enough praise for watches that are thin enough to make wearing them unexpectedly pleasant. It's one of the things that impressed me with the new Super Ocean line. 12mm for 300m of water resistance is even slightly thinner than those, which is just plain heroic. I don't care about in-house movements, but it would be nice to have the 56 hour power reserve available from SW300 based 3 hand and GMT movements. I don't think that is a big ask at this price range.

Normally, I'm not a fan of steel bezels, but these new Avengers are definitely my style. I completely agree with you on power reserve though, and I wish Breitling had more in most of their watches.

Now I want to get this one too.

Thinness is everything in a watch. Far more than diameter for me, this is what affects wearability. I think the green dial automatic looks great. The best looking Avenger yet if you ask me. 42mm is the sweet spot for this style of Breitling. They're kind of brutish and they just wouldn't work at 36mm. The adjustable clasp seals the deal. I have this on my newest Tudor and it's hard to go back once you get used to it. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

These ooze Breitling. Kern-rifiic. It looks like they lifted the clasp directly off a Formex Reef GMT, which is actually a good thing. I do love the slightly angled / slashed oyster bracelet.

I love ETA movements. Prefer them to in house. But there is no good reason on earth to pay that much for one.

I have the new 42mm auto. Very pleased with the design - less blingy than the old Avengers. Extremely comfortable but accuracy on mine is dubious at the moment but it seems to be slowly dialling in…🤞🏻

Very cool watches, especially the tan chrono. And I'm not at all disappointed that these aren't tied in with the Avenger super heroes, like I initially thought when I read the title of the video. Nope. Not disappointed at all.

I tried on a green one recently. Seriously considering it.

Taking the tool watch logo (the iconic wings and anchor) off the tool watch series is a huge miss that cannot be overstated. Otherwise, this was a decent update. Though, in all honesty, that’s like saying, “Aside from the gunfire, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?”

I have the older SO42 as well👍Breitling has one of the most amazing anti reflective coating treatments on the sapphire crystal. It's so well done, it puts big "R" to shame.

I also love my SO42 and the AR coating. The only thing I hate is the non adjustable clasp of the bracelet. I love the look of the bracelet just the clasp. I wonder if this new 22mm bracelet will fit our 22mm lug SO42?

​@@JHK-DTRADER777yeah until the most recentl breitlings the clasps have been lame. .even the new ones for bracelet aren't the most pleasing to look at. The clasps on rubber straps are the best for rubber straps hands down. Love it on my seawolf.

Would be nice if you told us your wrist size for measurement..

Breitling really has a winner here.

I would choose a BB58 or BB chrono over these. The Navitimer or Premier line are the only Breitlings that peak my interest.

I think we all have one thing in common - we’ve all offloaded at least one Breitling

I’m impressed with the design, the functionality and the price! And I don’t mind a COS certified ETA movement one bit. For under $5K, I’d say that’s a helluva watch with some awesome heritage to boot.

If I didn’t like something about it, I wouldn’t make a video about it. It’s a kind of selection bias. I’m not a journalist.

I used to have an Avenger but the watch was just too bulky. I would always hit the watch on tables and other things. I sold it and used the money towards a Hulk which I bought at retail before the prices went crazy. For me the Rolex case and thickness was way more comfortable. I am sure these newer Avengers at 12mm thickness wear a lot better.

I'm wondering, not questioning, why Breitling is using off the shelf movements in $4k+ watches. Don't they have a partnership with Tudor? Why not use a Kenissi with a 70hr power reserve? They have used them before iirc. The $3.5 to $4k price range is when I get on the in house train. Your money should buy you that. Very nice watches price aside.

Not my 1st, 2nd or even 3rd choice but I totally get the appeal to its fanbase. And I suppose I could consider the date only at a really good discount. Apart from its meek pwr rsrv the ETA 2824 is one helluvan industrial achievement.

@@bigbodykarate6403 You're just a ray of sunshine aren't you. There are tons of watches I haven't bought yet that I would like to. Me buying it or not does not affect a watch's quality. Obviously you don't like Breitling and that is Ok. Not everyone needs to like the same thing. I'm interested in the Aerospace but I'm also interested in the Omega X-33. Both wound meet the same need. I'm holding off because I'm not sure I actually have that need. I also don't have infinite funds so I don't buy every watch that I am fascinated with.

I also still own the old SO42 and unfortunately can't get myself to like the new SO design. I am envious of the new bracelet and clasp though. I wonder if the this Avenger 22mm bracelet will fit my SO42 with 22mm lugs? If it did I would buy a bracelet ASAP and have the perfect SO42!

If you have the so with the Arabic numerals all the same size ...well that's an amazing watch. Not a fan of the one with enlarge 3 6. 9 and 12. Looks awful imo

The Navitimer is my dream watch. It's the watch I knew I loved before I cared about watches...that being said, the new Avenger Chronograph has got me wondering, "Why can't I get both?" And, "What is wrong with me?"

Not so sure about these myself. The bezel design maybe unique to Breitling, but it’s fussy look still seems dated and very 90s to me 🤷‍♂️

It can be used underwater.......the pushers activate the chrono via a magnetic switch, meaning the movement is totally sealed at all times.......Breitling (and Tudor) should make a bigger deal of this.

I believe only the Breitling M1 E73360 and E73390 from 2008 to 2011 were the only watches to use the magnetic pusher system and are the only 1000m divers ever made with functional chrono under water and they are superquartz only not autos. So these are not usable under water and very few others are. Blancpain and Omega might have one but not at 1000 meters like the Breitlings.

Have a seamaster and the black dial 44mm gmt Avenger is my next purchase. Looks so sexy 🔥

I’ve owned a couple of ETA watches. The thinnes and accuracy are hard to beat. I don’t like the power reserve though, it’s a bit annoying put it down for a day and have to reset.

There is a yellow dial called Night Mission 🤩

Maybe, just maybe, there is hope for me yet

How is it AP made a watch with Marvel and there’s no Avengers Breitling Avenger?

Love these watches, but it was a miss for Breitling to not make a new yellow 42mm automatic. I hope they’ll add that in the future

They’ll probably add one as an “online exclusive”.

It's a Breitling for Breitling lovers. Subpar movement on the automatic. Wears nice when I tried one though, probably $2000 overpriced, even factoring in the Breitling tax. The GMT is pretty big, but doesn't wear much larger than a Seiko Samurai or a Mido GMT. The FAT metal bezel does help it look visually smaller (although not less flash). Would say it would be well priced at $3000. The chrono is kinda huge. If it was around the same price or marginally more than the Tudor Chrono I'd consider it pretty good value. At least if anyone tries to mug you for this watch you can beat their ass with it's 180g weight and impressively sharp edges.

I heard the Avenger has the Tudor movement in it

Love these but as always you need to find an independent to get around 15/20% of straight away because you know even with that discount you're looking at another 15/20% again for any type of value to it once you paid you cash!

I get that it has the specs, but is it really a dive watch?

That price is STUPID, no wonder Tudor and Oris are doing so well.

I'm not sure where you’re basing this statement, but Breitling is doing extremely well. See the most recent Morgan Stanley Swiss Export sales numbers. Breitling surpassed Tudor by a sizable margin and Oris didn’t even have enough sales to show on the rankings. It’s ok not to like Breitling, but they have a very successful business model and the numbers to prove it.

Breitlings are a solid watch. No matter the era or what their current releases are, what makes the brand stand out from the pack the most is how they lead with new bracelet designs. They're unique yet not unsightly. Think of the solid shark mesh, the diagonal link Oyster/Jubilee styles, and the Rouleaux bracelets. They're all instant classics. The watch case and dial may be hit or miss, but the bracelet offerings are consistently stellar (obviously not available for all models, but that the brand keeps coming out with new instant classic styles every watch generation or so). Some things I would change about the watch.... The crown's knurling should be diagonal to better match the bracelet. The bezel edge should incorporate that diagonal grip design, too. The rugged, utilitarian look of the screws should either be omitted or be added onto it, not replace the standard knurling.

Me gusta. Distinctive and durable. But I wouldn't part with my money for any of these. I would, on the other hand, part with money for the DLC coated chronograph on a strap. But not for what they're asking. Maybe half. And that is the issue I run into with Breitling - they incinerate dinero. But ... at the right price, I am very, very persuadable.

The slanted bracelet links never looked right to me. They look ok in photos when they are perfectly stretched out, but on the wrist and in real life, they remind me of a worn and stretched out bracelet that no longer sits straight.

The 90's called they want thier watches back. 5k+ for off the shelf modded movt's , what a bargain. It's a complete head scratcher to why their boutiques are dead. 🤷‍♀

Love the video but not these watches. The rider tabs are somehow non-starters for me, maybe because they're so often used in junky mall watches (cough, Invicta). They make the watches look cheap and outdated, and not in a cool retro way. They're kind of like the leisure suit of bezel features.

An ETA 2824 for $4,600 in 2024. Woof.

Top tip - if you think their is a chance you'll sell a Breitling then don't buy at retail. Buy pre owned and let someone else lose the money on them 👍

I don't care about in-house movements, but i do care about accuracy and a generous power reserve. In this day and age, less than 2 days of power reserve on a $4000+ USD watch is lazy and inexcusable IMO.
