All these years I never knew about this show. Of course, I was only 3 years old back in 1971.

Generally speaking, any TV show with "New" or "The New" in its title didn't last very long. An exception would be The New Price is Right, 1972, nka The Price is Right.

All I remember is it ran 6 weeks and Fannie Flagg was in it.

Getting My Life Back Don Knotts, George Lindsay, and Paul Hartman all appeared in the pilot episode basically playing their characters from TAGS

@@BartBoat The hint was that Andy Sawyer "was" Andy Taylor, so to speak. Griffith was regretful he gave up his classic show, apparently.

I don't ever remember seeing this show. But I was only 6 years old then. Is the entire show available anywhere? It likely didn't succeed because it was completely different.

It didn't. Only ten episodes were made and although it started out successfully with an appearance of Don Knotts this success quickly disappeared in the following episodes.

Never even heard of it.

Same music. Dick Van Dyke show failed too

Horrible theme music. Horrible supporting cast. A complete mess.
