You guys probably won't see this but I just wanted to say it is confirmed caine is also an AI who is just trying to create a fun for humans adventure. Now I'm gonna go into theorizing bit. Matpat as well as a lot of other people theorized that like you guys said this is a game which takes a digital copy of your brain and puts it into an avatar. The whole caine being an AI constantly creating new adventures plays into this theory with the devs trying to make a game that creates itself using AI. It's a really cool concept in my opinion.

I really loved the scenes with Pomni and Gummy Goo, and seeing him learn the dark truth that he's just an NPC with no freedom or agency was really tragic and such an unexpected direction I didn't see the episode take. At least Pomni is slowly realising shes not alone in this mess. But of course, when Caine sent Gummy Goo away, my jaw dropped! Seeing Pomni straight up lose more of her sanity over losing what could've been a potential friend to relate to in this virtual hell was heartbreaking I love how much of an unhinged agent of chaos Jax is in this episode
