Maybe it’s because I obsessively watched it over and over, but... how could you forget this Pippi tale?! It’s so emotional with Pippi having to deal with being all by herself in a place she hadn’t seen in years, making new friends and missing her dad, who for most of the story, for all she knows, might even be dead... and missing her mother, who IS. Yet Pippi still makes a lot of sunshine for everyone. Her animal friends and her new friends are able to help her smile again despite the sadness... it’s just so... so... well, I guess, it’s as I already said. Emotional. I remember little tiny me used to cry and laugh so much with this movie back in the early 90’s.

The song of the original Pippi show? It's about a 1000 times better and more iconic for the character. This remake from the 80's is just a American knock-off of the 1969 Swedish version. The original PIppi song was fun and playful. This one sounds like it was made by people who have absolutely no understanding of the spirit of Pippi Longstocking or the idea with which Astrid Lindgren created her. This film is like the goodie two shoes american-Christian-family-friendly adaptation that just doesn't get who Pippi is and what the character is really about.

My friends grandma lived in the same house this movie was shot in. This movie was shot in fernandina beach

this song has lived in my head rent-free for 20-some-odd years, but I always associated it with the animated version for some reason. no one else ever seemed to have heard of it though, so I was beginning to think it was just one of those fever-dreams things my brain just spit out one day. maybe now that I've got friends having kids, I should introduce them to Pippi!

I remembered watching the live movie back in elementary school and that’s how I remembered this song for all these years. But no one seemed to ever recognize it sadly. Now my son is 5 and loves the movie and the song, might have to introduce him to the animated version as well

I was born in 1982 so as a kid I loved this movie and still do today. Now I got my 2 sons to enjoy this movie! It's a fun filled movie the whole family will love! Pippi rocks😘

Love the comments from young adults who at 18-24 or so who say they loved this movie when they were kids lol. I remember the first time I saw this movie loved it then and 3 years from 40 I still do. Have to watch it with my niece soon.

I don't care what people say, I didn't grow up with the Inger Nielson version, of Pippi Longstocking because I'm not Swedish, but for me Tami Erin is Pippi. I love this movie. This song is soo damn catchy I've been singing ever since I first saw the movie 2 weeks ago. This is was the world needs, more POSITIVITY! The past was a better time. The world is so negative today it makes me sick. Thanks Astrid Lindgren for creating this awesome character. The name is awesome as well. I was 14 by the time this film came out in ‘88 but all I needed to hear was a few seconds of this theme song in the film’s commercial and it stayed in my head for decades.

I’m 13 so I know I didn’t grow up with it or anything but this was one of the best movies ever. I could recite all the words throughout the movie and loved the book❤️
