I was constantly harrassed by Arabic-speaking people in the Netherlands. They looked Morrocan or Algerian to me. The Netherlands is a good country, just their immigration system is completely broken. I really want to go back someday, my fiance didn't feel safe though. I genuinely wonder how it affects their tourism.

@@anythinggoes5574 We do have a lot of wasted Morrocan youth here yes. Sad cus there's also good ones among them and those clearly are ashamed as hell about that even though they're some of the most amazing people themselves. They generally live around the outskirts of big "randstad" cities like Alkmaar, Haarlem, Amsterdam, Den Haag though. In the city centres they will be around a lot as well but since it's far more busy they usually don't act up too much. Alternatively you could go to a more southern/eastern city where that problem is significantly less, and have a much better experience.

@@reznovvazileski3193 It's very sad, but the native dutch treated us amazingly and the herring was delicious. Question though; why do you guys allow the Netherlands to be taken over by these people? Maybe it was the area, but at some points it seemed like there were no native Dutchmen in sight. They started screaming at eachother when we wouldnt buy their dope and they were making cat calling sounds to my fiancée. I couldn't fight them cause they were all grouped together. The worst part was, at first there was only 2 of them, and then outta nowhere there was like 20...I've never seen anything like it, it's as if they were hiding and waiting or something. Very poor experience in that regard and quite scary to be honest.

Hilarious, we had this silly woman, who moved to Haarlem. Now, we have these two clocks there, which have been rung every day at a certain hour for more than 450 years. This annoyed this ‘lady’ for some kind of reason and she complained to the municipality in order to have this stopped. The municipality very politely told her to shove it and that was that. These chicks should be friends.

The homeless people are indeed told to leave the public space they are sleeping or whatever at. And they are helped by the fact they send them to a homeless shelter called Het Leger des Heils. Where they get a bed, ability to shower and if wanted more help. Because we have laws saying nobody should be left out on the street.

For real!! Ofcourse it costs a lot of money if you're going to stay in a hotel in Amsterdam for two months.. Wich you would in every big city in the world.. If you're going to be in the Netherlands for two months and don't want to pay much, then you should go to a camping, hire a apartment/vacation house or stay in a hotel outside the big cities. And also pretty obvious that we don't give money to someone with that attitude. You can't expect other people to give you their money.. The same with jobs. And she is talking about that we speak broken English while she needs a voice over in her video for people to understand it..

Getting paid more the more experience you have is kinda like getting paid more by growing older. You hardly have to do anything except not dying or going into a completely differerent discipline. For example in scandinavia the salary rises real quick when you're younger and at some point starts lowering again because older people are slower. Both have merits but it's good to know there's other options.

Yeb. When I first came across this video I was utterly disgusted by the tone and baseless accusations. You, apparently, are too! In Dutch there is this saying: Zoals de waard is, vertrouwd hij zijn gasten. No people, including the Dutch, are all angels. If your approach is negative, that is what you will receive back. And in a way, some folks in Amsterdam are like those in New York; hurried and often 'haggard'. But definitely not all. Racists are everywhere, including Holland but it is also one if the most diversed people in the world. Genersl rule: show respect and you will be treated in kind.

hi there! i'm from the Netherlands and i speak Dutch, at least overhere i do... tbh, i mostly speak the local dialect of my region. i also speak nearly perfect English, some people think that i'm British for the "proper pronounciaton" i use when speaking English. (spoiler; i had a British teacher who was very keen on the pronounciaton of the language!) i also speak German and even some French, so what is this "Karen" talking about? ~90% of the Dutch speak, at least some, English and German! the bulk of the tourists we recieve in our country consist of "fremdenverkehr aus Deutschland" (tourists from Germany, fyi), it is a country that we share a border with. furthermore i live in a small village and commute on bicycle for 90+%, the rest is done using public transport, i rarely make use of a car, which we have plenty of, 11 million+ to be precize. oh, and in this village we greet eachother 99% of the time and happen to help eachother out whenever we can. how rude!

Thats like me going without money or job, or relatives to NewYork , book a random hotel, then complain that its cold, lot of skyscapers, rude people.. and when you run out of money, might get robbed if you sleep on the streets, realize people use drugs and drink, cabs are yellow, traffic is crazy, you need to cross bridges to leave the city. they have some weird club called the yankees that seem to wear all the same clothes and try to hit ball with a bat, Christmas trees in december, and i havent even mentioned the worst part: they seem to speak english there, the sky is blue, water is wet, never go there! and a tip: if someone there says:hi how are you? better run, because that person is probably very cold and unfriendly. and if you want money: you will have to work, but nobody will hire you because you need to be educated and skilled and whats even worse: if you are more experienced , they pay you more.

Ok, I don't even know where to begin with this one. First of all. Schiphol is an airport full of diverse people. They usually are service oriented. Yes some of them can be real annoying to put it mildly but then again everywhere where you put specific people in positions of power there are bound to be some who abuse it. Amsterdam is not a good representation of The Netherlands. It's a big city. But the nitwit probably never gotten out of the centre. Even then it's pretty expansive. Most likely she remained in the Central Station area. And of course Amsterdam is expensive. If you remain in the tourist area of course you are going to pay double than you would have to normally. That is why you should go in the hotels outside Amsterdam. They are a whole lot cheaper. Actually there are so many places you could go. The winter thing is a joke. In recent years the winters haven't been as cold as they used to be. But yes last year and the year before were particularly cold and few days with lots of snowfall. But to be honest it didn't last that long. As for the freezing. I haven''t had to wear a winter coat in years. It used to be so cold that going outside without coat and warm clothes would be devestating. Worse that can happen is to catch a cold or flu. People have been pining to be able to skate on natural ice. That hasn't been possible for even longer since the ice never was strong enough. But yes of course compared to a tropical country The Netherlands is significantly colder in the winter.

This seems like a computer generated story, probably by some AI that has been skimming review sites, travel guides from all over the world, and then was tasked with writing a piece on the Netherlands. The complete lack of context and understanding the repetition of phrases the basicness of the sentences used The topics are not uncommon in other parts of the world (like racist treatment at airports) etc etc The opening shot was also a dead giveaway that at least something was off Lips don't match anything she is saying, not does the voice match the person. I could point out so many more reasons But I think this video can be best summarized by: "It" does not understand the world. The only other option i can think of is a troll, or a lobbyist (probably car) making a video to "convince" legislators and regulators that the Netherlands "isn't all people make it out to be", and then paying someone on fiver to make a video on it, and then have it narrated. Love your reaction regardless

@Sunset Honeycomb It is real unfortunately, she is from spain, and on her original video there is a reaction of someone who does the same kind of things, he also had a video on why he disliked the Netherlands.

Cold weather. I find it amusing how many Americans move to Australia only to learn the hard way that it gets cold here in winter. 🤣

Well, one thing is true: the cost of living in Amsterdam or any of the other major cities are rising more quickly than wages can keep up with. This is a problem, and it is being recognized as such. Real estate agents buying up all manner of houses and appartment and rent them out at top prizes. Usually to expats who do have a lot of money.

Nothing to do with expats or refugees all the more to do with the slightly right centered government that diverted funds away from social housing subsidies. Thus in order to make ends meet the housing companies changed a lot of social housing into high rent ones.. And not building new ones either. This resulted in less and less social sector houses available , longer waiting times for social housing up to 30 years in some parts which is silly, and now people look outside the government to put the blame elsewhere.

That is everywhere, try buying or renting in Sydney or Melbourne, the prices are through the roof, I live in Australia, prices are ridiculously high and overpriced...so not just in Amsterdam, most capital cities in the world do have the same problem..

@@Lilygirl283 But it is not just the capital though, there is a real shortage in housing everywhere (about 330.000 short, in a country with 17 million people that is a lot) resulting in people having to offer to pay much more than the asking price just to be in the running for a house. It is becoming a really big problem in this country

Paul, you are basically giving the exact same reaction I had when I saw this video for the first time. It's both funny and stupid at the same time. It can make you laugh, but it can also make you angry. 🤣

OMG you're so on with your reaction to this video. Just one thing I'd like to add, this woman as so many foreigners often do keeps going on about the Netherlands (or Holland for those ignorant of that distinction) but they're only actually talking about Amsterdam. I'm from the Netherlands, I'm not a fan of Amsterdam and there is so much more to this country. And yes, you need a work visa if you come from outside Europe to work here, as so many countries require. I know, I worked for a company that started hiring outside of Europe, they made sure everything was arranged for the people they hired before they came here. And there's definitely benefits for skilled people coming from other countries to work here, in part to compensate for higher living expenses. Like you said, so some damn research.

The Netherlands is the worst country and this is why! Moves on only talking about Amsterdam which is the capital if the Netherlands. Wtf do you expect? Ofcourse its expensive... Cant find a job. Oh man I wonder why? Maybe because eveybody wants to live and work in the capital of one of the wealthiest countries in Europe. And it's is so funny she says the Dutch speak English poorly while she has litterly someone dub a youtube video for her. So Karen her English is probably the problem not the Dutch.

7:05 did she just now object to having to be qualified for a job to get the job? Like, a busdriver shouldn’t be required to have a driver’s license? I can’t believe this is serious. She should be a Stand Down comedian
